Starts out strong, but about half way it loses its momentum, and never gains it back. Too bad. This is the first book by Haldeman that hasn't blown me away. Had to happen sooner or later.

Read in February, 2008
Haven't read much Haldeman since the brilliant "The Forever War," but this one makes me want to seek out more of his stuff.

Loved the book until I got to the end. Horrible ending, but a great story for the first 90% of the book.
