Hannah’s list: Ghosts are cold to the touch. Being tied up isn’t much fun. And danger is a sure-fire prescription for amazing sex!

When Hannah Campbell attends a memorial service for the neurosurgeon who once saved her life, the last thing she expects is a lightning strike that knocks her out cold and blasts her lungs full of the departed’s ashes. Things only get weirder w

What I love about this book:
Very creative, with plenty of twists, mystery and action. I adore the fact that the main male character was Asian and a total hottie. How cool is it when the way Hannah starts to see ghosts begins when she accidently inhales the ashes of the recently departed after being struck by lightning while at the guys funeral. Like I said very creative!

What I did not like:
Lots of bad stuff happens to Hannah and as crazy as the premise sounds, the stuff that happens to Hannah al

A friend recommended Shaking Off the Dust and I am so glad I picked up a copy! I enjoyed every word Rhianna Samuels' wrote and look forward to reading more! Shaking off the Dust was an amazing story and I loved it!

Tom Mercurio wasn't someone Hannah cared for, but when he dies, she attends his funeral. The saying that you could be hit by lightning for a lie nearly becomes a reality when Hannah is almost hit by lightning and inhales Tom's ashes. She wakes in the arms of sexy Takeshi Shimodo and l
What an intense, fast paced story this was. SHAKING OFF THE DUST took me on an emotional roller coaster ranging from giggles, to anger, to tears, to love and all in between. It has it all! Rhianna Samuels has written a gripping romantic suspense novel, which includes an array of interesting and vividly real characters, some of them ghosts, and an intelligent and plausible suspense/terrorist plot that kept me glued to the story until the very end. And then there's the main thing, SHAKING OFF THE ...more
More character development and less porn would make for a better book.
This is an excellent first story by Rhianna Samuels who works as an emergency room nurse. Part paranormal romance, part suspense thriller, and all wonderful escapism, this story (in eBook format) kept me absolutely glued to the computer reading it… all 300+ pages in a few hours. I just didn’t want to walk away from it.

While this story is a romance centered on Hannah and Takeshi, Tom is definitely a major character. Hannah, along with the other ER nurses considered Dr. Tom Mercurio, neurosurge

Shaking Off the Dust is Rhianna Samuels first novel and I look forward to reading more of her stories in the future. This was an amazing read. I hung on every word, feeling every emotion right along with the characters.

Hannah didn’t want to attend Tom Mercurio’s funeral, she hated him when he was alive and felt it was hypocritical to be there for this, and when she was almost hit by lightning and inhaled his ashes during the ceremony she knew she was in trouble. Coming to in the arms of Tom’s se

3.5stars They’re everywhere!

Emergency Room nurse Hannah Campbell is dead. Oh, no she’s not. She is just communing with the dead. This lively quirky ghost story was very easy to get into with its sassy female lead. Unfortunately for me she was also the weakest link – her issues made her a damsel - drama within herself (totally my opinion) and got to be a little tiresome.

This story is so full with a suspenseful mystery with a steamy romance and excellent fleshed characters that I didn’t want to st
I liked this book for the innovative story, cute and quirky heroine with a sassy attitude, and great supporting characters. I'm fascinated by all things supernatural, and loved the role that ghosts played in the story. However, some things annoyed me - namely, Hannah's constant medical issues and need for rescuing, the speed with which Takeshi falls for her (come on!), and the international intrigue. The erotic scenes were also blush-worthy and felt a little out of place with the rest of the sto ...more
One of the best well written books I have read in a long time - glad I gave this book a chance. A near death experience, a hot doctor, and a ghost who can't leave until she can help solve what happened. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat and has some super steamy love scenes!! Give it a try - you won't regret it!!! Too bad there was only one(I usually read paranormal series books)...
I was halfway through this book when I had to stop and remind myself that ghosts arnt real.

This has great characters and a fast paced plot that had many interesting twists and turns.

I read it the week it came out and I have re-read it twice since. There is a new sequel out and I am soooooo happy...Squee!!!
Meh. Quitting on page 42, Chapter 4. Both Tom, the ghost, and Hannah are incredibly annoying and not worth the effort.
Very interesting, unique story that keeps you on the edge of your seat

Rhianna Samuels is an ER nurse by day and writer of erotically charged paranormals by night. She loves creating new worlds wherein sexy, honorable men with more than a dash of humor would do anything to take care of the women they love.

She currently lives in a spectral nether realm called Indiana with exotic beings that offer her endless hours of amusement and fodder for her novels.
