Georgia Special Agent Daniel Vartanian is haunted by the discovery he made when his brother, Simon, was killed and a chilling murder has him back in his hometown of Dutton, Georgia. ER nurse Alexandra (Alex) Fallon gets a call from a Georgia social worker, notifying her that her surrogate stepsister is missing and she needs to come get her 4-year old daughter. You just know all this will collide, connect and hopefully make sense at some point. And, the journey there will be harrowing.

Oh, this is going to be difficult describing this book, because there are so many characters to keep straight, and so many twists and turns, that sometimes it was downright confusing! But if you can hang in there for about the first 100 pages, things start to make sense, everything falls into place and things get rolling, and by then this book was un-put-downable!

This is a story about disfunctional families, betrayal, guilt, and regrets. It seems that every character in this story had regrets or

When I started Scream for me by Karen Rose, I didn’t know I was in for a nerve-racking, nail-biting read from start to finish. The fast paced storyline and interesting dialog kept me on the edge of my seat. I read through this book quickly without being able to put it down for long intervals of time, so I neglected things like walking the dog and much needed sleep…but it was well worth it because I HAD to see how it ended!

Alex Fallon’s life has been filled with sorrow and death. Thirteen years a

First off...great book. Loved it. Secondly...damnit it! I don't want to wait almost a year for the continuation of the series!

Once I started reading Scream For Me I couldn't put it down. From the first page I was hooked on the story. It doesn't have the pulse-pounding, dark intensity and creepiness that Die For Me had, but the storyline is very engaging. I spent the whole book sorting through the details, trying to put the pieces together and figure out who did what and when and why. Rose kept m

This book was amazing to me. These are not the type of book's I usually read as a matter of fact they are the total opposite. I find myself drawn into the complicated stories. There are twists and turns that keep you wanting to know what is gonna happen next. Really Bad bad guy's and really Good good guy's. If you don't like violence in your story's then these book's are not for you.The feeling I got just now when I finished this book was WOW! I thought Die For Me was fantastic but Scream For Me ...more
The eighth addition to Karen Rose's Romantic Suspense series and the second in the Daniel Vartanian series. Thirteen years ago Alex Fallon's twin sister was murdered and now an eerily similar murder has taken place. Special Agent Daniel Vartanian of the GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigation) is back in his hometown of Dutton, Georgia, trying to solve the case but more bodies are stacking up. He is finding evidence that his dead brother Simon was involved.

Wow! I have said it before and I say it a

Scream For Me was another great book by Karen Rose. There was plenty of suspense along with a satisfying romance. The suspense portion of the novel was complicated and involved more than one villain. I didn't feel that this novel was quite as graphic as some others by Rose, but it was just as intense. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline, and I am anxiously awaiting the release of the next book in the series.

This is not really a standalone book. You really should read at least Daniel Vartanian #1. I'm reading through the whole Karen Rose catalog from beginning to end. I have never encountered an author who can craft a story like she can.

The Pillars of the Community of Dutton have something to hide, maybe even kill to protect. A serial killer is at work in Dutton too and he has his own vendetta to pursue. The key may be locked in the mind of Hope, who watched as her mother, Bailey, was abducted and
5 stars – Romantic Suspense

Scream For Me is another phenomenal read from the master of intense, chilling romantic suspense and creepy, sadistic villains, Karen Rose. This is the 8th book in her loosely connected series and the second part of a sub trilogy that began with Die For Me and continues with Kill For Me.

I highly recommend this, and all of her books for that matter, when you’re in the mood for a goosebumps inducing read that will also stir your emotions! Big 5 stars!

This is a very complex intense thriller featuring a 13 year old unsolved murder, a rape club, and a present day serial killer. The cast of characters is huge, and trying to figure out how the three were intertwined was very difficult. Even though I was confused through most of this the action and mystery was very compelling. The romance between the lead FBI agent and the sister of the 13 year old murder victim was satisfying and totally unrealistic at the same time. Even though all my questions ...more
Daniel Vartanian has been unable to sleep for the past eleven years, ever since he found gruesome pictures in his brother Simon’s possession. Pictures his own father, a judge, burned after Simon’s death so they couldn’t affect his career. Pictures that resurfaces along with a very alive, and seriously bent on revenge, Simon a couple of weeks ago. Pictures now in Daniel’s possession after his brother’s death (yeah, he really is dead this time).

Disappointed. This is book #2 in what looks like a trilogy though the author doesn't have them set up that way on her website. You should read "Die for Me" first because the crimes overlap, characters come from there, and the villains in this one were all connected to Simon (villain from Die for Me). The way this one ended, tells me that the next will connect even further and will be about Savannah and Luke only going more into child porn/rape.

This Reader was expecting the same intensity that "D

Omniscient and lucky bad guys. No clues until the very end. I was depressed throughout. Also, bad audiobook narration.

While reading this book I kept thinking of Michael Connelly’s Bosch books. Bosch does neat things and learns clues during the story. I am rooting for Bosch, I admire what he does, I enjoy the process. In this book no one does neat things or learns clues. It just drags until the end when all is uncovered. Lots of meanness and horrible acts. Karen Rose (KR) shows a killer who abduc

This book didn’t work for me. For me, it was hard to follow and there was too much going on at any one point. There are two alternate plots, one of town leaders involved in a clandestine operation and another of a serial murderer copy cat at bay, and they didn’t seem to mesh adequately with each other. Although she does a good job with the romantic interests in the story, many of the main characters are so stunningly reprobate that they start to seem like caricatures. Think the book suffers from ...more

Scream For Me is one dark and gripping story with good characterization. The plot is very complex and needs attention or you get lost by all those sub-plots. Better read Die For Me first because Scream For Me takes off one week later after events in Die For Me ended.

A week after burying his parents and taking down a serial killer, GBI Agent Daniel Vartanian is back on the job in Georgia. The body of a young woman is found in a ditch. She has been raped and beaten, then wrapped in a blanket. While trying to identify the victim, Daniel learns that this murder is strikingly similar to the murder 13 years ago of Alicia Tremaine. I read this book following "Scream for me": I didn't like the first very much, and I liked this even less, pretty much for the same reasons:

-the characters are so unreal: the baddies are so bad and the goodies are so good that is just not right; I think the author has some personal issues that reflect in her books, because in both of them, the main male characters (policemen) are hot, sweet, considerate... just perfect!, and same with the main female: beautiful, smart... everybody likes them!...

This was book 2 in a series with Agent Daniel Vartanian, but it read well as a stand alone. The first book, Die For Me, I have on reserve at our library, so that should tell you that I really enjoyed this book!

Daniel Vartanian is a Special Agent with the GBI, Georgia Bureau of Investigation. He has just returned from a case which involved his parents and his brother (I have a sneaky suspicion that this is what Die For Me is about...) He isn't even home a day before a murdered girl is discovered

If you’re interested in dysfunctional families then this is the romantic mystery for you. Alex Tremaine’s identical twin sister was found murdered several years ago and the crime remains an unsolved mystery. At the time of the murder, Alicia mother Kathy was so distraught over the death of her daughter that she committed suicide, apparently in front of daughter Alex. Alex was so traumatized by that experience that she attempted suicide as well but was unsuccessful and although suffering with amn ...more
I enjoyed the romance side of this romantic suspense book, despite the fact that it came on very suddenly, but the suspense side was way too complicated for me. There seemed to be about 14 different villains supporting 5 separate evil plots. I couldn’t keep track of who was doing what, and at the end there was a big villain reveal that fell completely flat, because I had no idea who the character was in the story.

On the plus side, it was less graphically gruesome than Rose usually is, and always

Book 8 in this unnamed series.
Still going strong on the suspense and romance. At this point the romantic parts are easily predictable, but still enjoyable to read and watch unfold. The suspense parts are fresh and with many twists and turns. I thought there was going to be too much going on part way through this book, but it was written very well. It didn't feel like overload and kept me guessing.

The second book of this storyline held my interest from the first page. I really enjoyed reading more about Daniel and the secrets from his past. The pace didn't let up, and I found this book one I couldn't put down. Am going to go and start the next book. Being a Karen Rose, I know I am going to enjoy it.

This book falls into the genre of “romantic suspense.” It was interesting to realize that if you excised all the scenes involving "romantic" encounters between "ruggedly handsome" Daniel Vartanian and "beautiful, full-lipped" Alexandra “Alex” Fallon, you’d still have a pretty good suspense novel AND not really notice the difference.

Daniel Vartanian (of ruggedly handsome fame) is a Special Agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, called in to help with a brutal murder in Arcadia, Georgia
