When I borrowed this from my sister's bookshelf it was with the thought, "oh...maybe...why not?". Wasn't expecting much. But I was taken in. Each chapter features a story about a person immigrating to Canada. At the end of the chapter she gives you a brief history of the immigration history and the obstacles faced by that particular community. The individual stories were really well done.
