"An Anthology of Verse" edited by W. H. Auden and John Garrett, published in 1935. As close to a canon of English verse as anyone is likely to come, now that the idea of a canon is in disrepute. This book has been out of print for years. Isn't putting books like these back into circulation the best rationale for Kindle and all the other digital publishing schemes?
