After reading this book, I am really anxious to read the rest in the series. I didn't like it as well as the other J.L.Langley books, but I did enjoy it. I think Lainey, although very cute, was too giggly and too clumsy for my taste. I thought he and Devlin were pretty well matched, and I commend Devlin for his patience with Lainey's exploits! Very cute and sweet book.

I have seen mixed reviews about this book, so I really didn't know what I would think of it. True, it is not about two uber-masculine men meeting and falling in lover with one another.
Laine is definately more flamboyant than most heroes I have read about...but I still liked him and I still enjoyed this story.

Devlin Johns has come to Asheville to relocate his business. Being a wolf-shapeshifter, he has arranged a meeting with the local Alpha to let him know he is in town, and...more

Devlin Johns is an Alpha werewolf looking for a new location for his construction business. Laine Campbell is an Omega werewolf who is delicately built, effeminate, submissive, and a klutz. Dev and Lainey meet while Lainey is being punished by his Alpha for his insolence and discover they are destined to be mates.

I really wanted to love this story. Overall, it was fast-paced and fun. The main characters were very appealing and the love scenes were sizzling. Even though Laine was an O...more

I thought Laney and Devlin was very well matched. Laney was such an endearing character! So accident prone, but sweet and well deserving of Devlin's love. I loved it. This has been such a fun series so far!

This is really 4.5 stars. I really enjoyed this book. I loved Lainey and Dev! I just wish there was a bit more done with the villan - the final fight scene seemed a tad (a very tiny tad) anti-climatic.

I would say this shifter story is for fans of J L Langley. For those that like her style and know how she crafts her characters and love scenes. She is a great writer but the plot is an average mated shifter story. With a sprinkle of vengence thrown in for good measure.

I like that you can enjoy Dev and Laine together or apart. You can read about them chatting with friends, or, in bed and they are equally engaging. Laine was a giggling, goofy clumbsy acting kid but since that endured ...more

This novella is the intro into the With or Without Series. I really liked it and am looking forward to reading the rest of the stories in the series. Laine was so cute, a clutsy werewolf in distress. And Dev was the one to rescue him and the rest of the pack too. Cole and Caroline were great supporting characters.

This short werewolf story, first in Langley's "With or Without" series, was incredibly cute. Yes, it was basically a gay PWP - though there was some plot with Dev taking over the Asheville pack as the new Alpha - but I didn't mind this time. Why? The book made me namely smile. I mean it. It's such a cute feel-good story and Lainey with his clumsiness and penchant for getting himself into trouble was simply endearing. And the sex was hot, of course ;)

Devlin is a werewolf and a born leader, a typical alpha wolf. Laine owns a flower shop and is the very antithesis of Devlin, an omega wolf. But when they meet, they realize instantly that they are soulmates and belong with each other. Devlin is determined to keep Laine with him and to fight for him with claws and teeth, even if his adversary is another alpha wolf with his entire pack behind him.

It's a sweet little story, very predictable and, as usual with J.L. Langley books, full o...more

It was cute, but the "cute and clumsy Omega" bit was played out a little too much to make it enjoyable for very long. For a quick and very light read, it was ok. I like my monsters to have at least some monstrous moments or feelings or something. So for me, the werewolves fell a bit flat.

I enjoyed the next book in the series, Without Reservations With or Without Series Book 2, much better. The characters had more depth and emotion to them. But it does look as if With Lov...more

This was a short one, but apparently it was originally written to be included in an anthology, so that makes sense.

Strange to review it after book two and three in the series. Same premise here, except different location and different characters.

Two wolves who are business partners are thinking about moving into a new town. Dev, the more powerful of the pair, comes in advance to check out the pack. Well, the pack alpha and his four betas are nothing but bullies. Dev fin...more

Um.... I liked the epilogue?
This book was really cartoony and ridiculous. And I must beg to differ with all the reviewers that said it was well-written. I'm not sure what standards of writing they're going by, but... sorry, no. It wasn't horrendous or anything. It's just not anything I would call good.
I tend to really like the more "effeminate" (hate that word but sometimes it says what I mean better than anything else) and flamboyant characters, but I don't like when they...more

I didn't really care for this book. I was unable to connect with any of the characters nor did I feel that there was any emotional connection between Laine and Dev. They met and realized instantly that they were mates. It's hard for me to put in words what exactly the problem was. I guess the best I can chalk it up to is the lack of emotion overall. I just didn't care about what was happening. This was my first Langley book, but it won't be my last. I've been told that the s...more

This came out a wee while ago now, but it’s a book I’ve re read several times. The writing is fast paced, sexy and I liked the character of Laine tremendously. I was also rather partial to Devlin who was more of a buff, builder type and quite forbearing with Laine’s knack for getting into mischief.

What I enjoyed most about the book was Laine’s fearless nature and willingness to stand by his man in spite of his lack of size or ability in a fight. He had a sweetness about him...more

I have this thing for the cute and the handsome werewolves falling in love and this story sated my need for more. Maybe I'm biased because I'm in love with JL's writing, but I enjoyed this story immensely. While I'll admit the story didn't seem to have enough villain in it, I can't help but love the couple and their interactions. I have read this story more than once and will continue to read it again and again.

This is a tale about two gay werewolves, Dev and Laine. I wouldn't really say they were in love with each other. It was more like a close friendship with benefits. Laine seemed kind of childish at times. In fact at times it was comically. I couldn't really relate to the pair very much at all.

Yet, the story was very well written and the sex scenes were very hot.

Light reading.
An enjoyable read. I found Laine a bit annoying and immature at times, which isn't good in a main character. This was originally part of an anthology and hasn't been overhauled before being released as a stand alone, which is a shame because a bit more depth in the conflict with the resident Alpha would have made a better balance.

I don't usually like to mix my PNR and my m/m for some reason, but this was a really fun m/m werewolves story. My only real issue was the length. I just can't get real excited about short stories. I always feel a bit cheated.
