If this is the book I think it is, then this was my my first exposure to a douchebag hero.
I remember reading as a teen and getting to the part where the "hero" spanks the "heroine" as a punishment enough to injure her, then just puts her in a healing device because so long as she's better now, its all ok.
O.o
I don't care that later on she is turned on by it. The fact is it all started non-consensually and that is an immediate turn off.

I thought Warrior's Woman was okay when I first read it, but it was one of the first romance novels I ever read. Recently I learned that it was just the first in a trilogy, so I picked up Keeper of the Heart which is the second in the series. Is it me or was I justified in being upset at the idea of the person who is supposed to be our "lifemate" beating us whenever we defy him. Last time I checked, love isn't supposed to hurt. If this world is so futuristic, then what happened to women's rights and Anti-Abuse Laws? Because I'm sure Earth isn't the only place that has had them installed by this point in time. I finished a re-read of this book yesterday. I did not remember it as being nearly as good as the first in the series, Warrior's Woman, but I was pleasantly surprised.
This book starts up approximately twenty years after the ending of book one. Tedra and Challon had twins - a boy and a girl. This is the daughter, Shanelle's book.

Honestly, I did not judge this book by its cover. I had picked it up, looked around inside, read the back of the paper back version but still when I opened this book, I was blown over to find that this story was not set on Earth but in outer space, many solar systems away from our own planet. This caused much confusion with me because I simply could not relate whatsoever with any of Shani (the heroine's) problems.

Loved this book even better than the first in this series. The mechanical woman is a hoot, and the warrior is a traditional hero. Loved it.
Ok, I really did like this one. I am still holding on to my theory that this was totally a BDSM book without the label. LOL, Johanna Lindsey takes it one step farther in this book and adds some spanking to it! See, I told you.
I love how cheesy these books are, but they really do have some great fantasy and erotic elements in them. I got a little bored when Shani ran away and we had to go to that whole other planet and stuff. I thought I would just ditch the story, but it picked up again.

I LOVED the first book in this trilogy so much that I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one! Unfortunately it did not live up to its predecessors' reputation.

Sumpah nih series kocak abis, walo sang Heroine ga seasyik ibunya, tapi karena sang Hero kocak seperti Challen, jadi ketolong d dalam proses membacanya.
Shanelle agak lebih cw dibanding Tedra sang nyokap, tapi tidak mengurangi kelucuan melihat percecokan dia dgn Falon sang Hero, walo ga seseru percecokan Tedra dan Challen yg sampe buku inipun masih terlihat (abis shanelle kabur mulu bawaannya). Makin ga sabar mau baca ttd Dalden & cwnya nanti akan sekocak apa :D

Grabbed a few Johanna Lindsey novels from the book store the other day. Didn't think I was going to like this book much, but I surprised myself and inhaled it.
A futuristic book, finding love and having to choose the right person who was raised in one of several worlds with different lifestyles, cultures, and ideas.
I loved the characters and how the author took each world and brought them to life.
A great romance novel.

Emank tidak seseru book 1, tapi tetep susah ninggalin buku ini sebelum kelar.
Si Shanelle bikin gregetan. Gara-gara rasa takutnya sama yg namanya rasa sakit, jadi merepotkan banyak orang.
Ketawa ngikik pas scene terakhir, Martha mencoba menstimulasi dirinya sendiri n gagal. Jadinya tetep butuh energi Brock untuk...ehem...bercinta. Hahaha...gak bisa bayangin 2 komputer Mock II ini berasik-masyuk begitu.

The 2nd in a series, this is Tedra & Challen's daughter's story. It was interesting until the bedding (chapter 8). It all goes downhill from there. I can't believe this is actually the daughter of 2 strong warriors, as she acts like the biggest wimp on the planet! The mere hint of pain throws her into an anxiety attack. I felt sorry for the hero Falon. Very painful to get through.

I didn't understand it at first. I was used to reading about England, and ships. Not a different Planet and Space ships, But when i read on it started to make more sense. It was over-all A great read! I liked it, and even though it was different from what i am used to read of hers. I still loved it! She is a wonderful Writer

Second book in the series, Challen and Tedra's kids are grown up and looking for their own loves now. Same story, basically, but new characters. Not quite as good as the first book, and predictable plot, but the characters are fun, as always and it's a fun romp.
This book was my very first romance novel and I loved it! If you are not into macho-ism you most likely will not like her books. Johanna Lindsey (books) introduced me to romance, and I've pretty much stuck with her and have most of her books.
I finished it just to say I finished the series. I won't go back to these books at all. The story wasn't that interesting. I felt it was disjointed. I couldn't get into the H/H relationship at all. Just glad I can mark it off my reading to-do list. Thank God I listened to the audiobook, otherwise I would have felt I wasted a few hours of my life.
I re-read this book recently because I thought I loved it in the 90s. Maybe I did. However I'm not the same person and I wanted to kill the heroine. She was so silly that I couldn't stand it.
I really love this series... but I felt like this book over explained things. How many times must we reiterate the way things are done, the rules, the customs etc. Over kill.

Not as great as the first book Warrior's Woman, but I guess it's because the fist book was just so ground breaking for Lindsey when she wrote it.
Very different edition. Would have hoped for less macho world in the future perhaps, but fun nonetheless.
