Not a big fan of books where selfish-seeming behavior is overlooked or rewarded. While losing the balloon might have been an accident, the main character made a choice to eat all the candy. Why not teach empathy -- that mothers like receiving nice things too -- instead of saying it's okay because all mom really wanted was a hug?

This book is a cute sentimental book about a boy who wants to get his mom a birthday present. The first present he gets he eats is all and the second he loses. He comes home sad that he can't give his mom a present. She then tells him what she wants most of all is a hug from her boy.

Naturi Thomas currently lives in London, home of awesome pubs, soggy weather and, compared to New York, a shockingly clean subway system. She's currently putting the finishing touches on both a novel and a prequel to '...Paris'
