This author has a sense of humor and it shows up in some unexpected places! This book takes you along a family’s journey. The lead characters name is Journey and it fits her well.

The different incidents in the book will have you laughing and crying with Journey as she navigates the good and bad that come into her life.

Everyone grieves differently when you loose your mother (Big Momma). You watch sisters: Mary Frances (Journey) and Mary Alice motives and personalities clash after Big Momma's death. There are various characters introduced in the book; hilarious moments, family rivalries, and real-issues like child molestation/sexual predators toil on the children and community.

The author, Ayani Meli, also laces us with poetry while reading the story (which at first I thought it was her story since More...

This was an enjoyable read about family rivalries between sisters: Mary Alice and Mary Frances (Journey). Mary Alice is the loose-wild sister as Journey is the Christian sister, constantly praying to God to deal with her drama. Mary Alice acts like a fool at their Big Momma funeral and another woman almost jumps in Big Momma’s grave with no panties on. There are hilarious moments, serious, and challenging relationships that Journey fights to keep it all together.
