After eight years after the death of his wife, David Beck receives a note from someone...someone who knows him to well.
His wife is alive. And he's been warned to tell no one.
Of all the authors of page-turning suspense novels; no one makes me turn pages faster than Harlan Corban. He consistently gives his readers a rollicking ride and `Tell No One' is no exception - it's full of hairpin turns and twists of plot.
Unfortunately, in this case, a few too many twists.

Even though it's been eight years since his wife was kidnapped and murdered and he was beaten and left for dead, Dr. David Beck still can't quite move on with his life. Now, after the bodies of two men are found buried on the land where the attack occurred, the FBI and local police are trying to pin the blame on him. At the exact same time as this suspicion is aroused, Beck receives an e-mail from an anonymous sender that contains information only he and his wife Elizabeth would know. Is she sti...more

Gripping. Breath-taking. Enthralling. I absolutely loved this page-turner of a novel. I read all 339 pages in 8 hours. The plot twists were great. Harlan Coben had me guessing from one twist to the next what might come next. Yes, it was violent. Yes, I had to read something light for a few minutes before bed so I could wind down from it and go to sleep. But it was worth it. I love watching the various crime shows on TV, but this was so much better than any of those, especially considering that i...more

Harlan Coban is developing a large following among readers of thrillers. I think he is OK; not as good as Michael Connelly and no where near as witty as Elmore Leonard, but still OK. I like to listen to his stories as books on tape or CD when traveling. They make the time pass. In this story our heros wife disappears, apparently the victim of a serial killer, but then strange things begin to occur. Coban seems to have a formula in his stories, but it works. He has to have a real figure of ...more

I got this as part of a book exchange and had never heard of or read anything by Harlan Coben before.
Eight years after the tragedy by the lake that took his wife Elizabeth from him, David Beck receives several strange email containing shocking images that make him think he's seen a ghost and warn him to tell no one. The messages contain references only one person could know - his dead wife, Elizabeth.

Dr. David Beck lost the love of his life eight years ago. The story of her death is so gruesome he can't bear to think about it. Elizabeth was the love of his life; they were two halves of a whole. So how can he explain the e-mail that appears so mysteriously on their anniversary, mentioning things that only they would know?
This is only the beginning of a novel that reads like the twists and turns of a mountain highway. When I became ensconced comfortably in a plausible scenario, honestly b...more

David Beck lost the love of his life 8 years ago in a kidnapping and murder. He can not move on from that horrifying night. Two murdered men are found near the lake where his wife was abducted. Then Beck gets an e-mail to watch a webcam. He sees his wife. What is going on?
The FBI are trying to pin her murder on David. The facts of her case just don't add up. There are so many twists and turns. Just when you feel you have it figured out another turn in the story occurs. The bodies start piling ...more

Wow. Harlan Coben leaves his series for this book and breaks new ground which I sure hope he plans on continuing. Dr. David Beck's childhood sweetheart and wife is murdered 8 years ago and while his life has gone on, the hole her death created has only widened. And then the past connects to the present and the story is full of tightly connected twists and turns with a plot so complicated that I'll be thinking about this story for weeks. It's one of the very best things I've read in a long, long ...more

Listened to an abridged audio version, narrated by Stephen Weber. Held my attention while listening but was almost immediately forgotten afterward. Weber's delivery was decent but not outstanding. Story & plot were unremarkable. Perhaps full unabridged version would be better. Scenario had potential: young married couple is assaulted, wife is taken away and never heard from again. A decade or more later, man has largely gone on with his life, then suddenly finds indications that his wi...more

so many twists and turns in this mystery...about a young couple in love when tragedy happens and the wife is murdered-but is she and the struggle of "Beck" to get on with his life after she is gone-but then realizes he doesn't have to but instead has to fight to unravel the mystery surrounding that night. I could hardly put it down and read it in a few days (which is quick with 3 kids running around)but with so many characters was a bit hard to follow at time and even at the end I'm s...more

The central plot was interesting until the very end, when it was twist upon twist to keep you guessing (I'm still not entirely sure I understand). But the sub plots, and most of the characters involved with them were highly irritating. You found yourself wondering if these sub-characters had any rational sense about them, and most of them acted as exaggerated caricatures of themselves (the bad cop in the good cop/bad cop duo who refused to let evidence clear his stubbornness, and became more of ...more

This was a fast-paced mystery/thriller with complex plot. It's an easy read, but there were so many characters I made a chart to keep track of how they were all related! I enjoyed it a lot. It's about a doctor widower who thinks his wife (dead for 8 years) is actually alive, and he tries to find her at his own peril. It's got racial integration, lesbians, laywers, cops, doctors, drug houses, and many cliches that the author keeps saying, "I hate to sound cliche, but...."

I loved this book. It was awesome! Reading this novel was like riding a roller coaster, one thrill after another. It was great. It was wonderful. I absolutely loved it. Every time I thought I had it all figured out, my theory is proved wrong and not just a little off, completely wrong. You can't be sure who's on whose side and many of the characters aren't clearly good or bad (depending on your morals). I will continue reading his books thats for sure.

One of my students had been reading Harlan Coben in her native language and she recommended this book to me. And she also recommended anything that Harlan Coben wrote. She's 17 years old but precocious. So I gave Coben a try. Good suspense writing. Nothing to really write home about. Just to tell the person next to you on a bus/train/plane. Or your pals. If you're taking a long trip, it wouldn't hurt to have this book in your bag to pass the time.

I actually heard about this book from a friend of mine years before I actually read it. She'd told me all about how good it was and then she moved and I forgot the name. Came across this book at work on the book-swap table and read it and was hooked like a druggie. Read all the non Myron's first and loved each and everyone, though this is always my favorite because it was first. READ THIS BOOK! lol You won't regret it.

Anyone who likes a good mystery
Harlan Coben is one of my favorite mystery writers. His characters are engaging and flawed. I can never figure the whole thing out before he is done, which is always a great way to end a mystery.
This was the first of his books that I read and I enjoyed it so much, I went and bought the entire Myron Bolitar series.
All of his books have some violence and 4 letter words, so just be warned.

I loved this book. Harlen Coben is a fantastic writter and everyone should read this book. I was in love with every character because of how real they were to me and how much you understood them by the end of the book. I think i read this book in like two days it was a total page-turner and i simply couldn't put it down i had to find out what was going to happy to Dr. David Beck and his story.
