Loved this story about a notorious rake Ned who falls in love with his friends sister Christiana. Ned knows her brother Robert would never approve and he doesn't approve of himself either but he is drawn to protect her from other rakes and fortune hunters. How they come to realize that they love each other is beautifully written. A happy young ducal couple asks two rather odd friends to be godparents to their newborn: he's rakish and she's wayward and they feel irritated sparks whenever they're around each other. Watch irritation turn to interest and then more.

2.25/5 stars. I just didn't feel the chemistry between the hero and heroine as other readers did.
