Continuing form book 8, Darren and is allies become otunumbered as he find out that humans are against him as well. With the vampanze working together with the humans, i makes it even harder for Mr. Crespley and Darren to king the Lord of Vampanze. Athough he has humans agaisnt him, he also has his girlfriend on his side as well as the Chief of the police as she understnd the situation in the end and volunteers to help with the war going against the humans that have been corrupted. With this pag...more

I think this may be the book I love the most in the series so far, but also the one I hate the most. I won't say who but someone dies and I was devastated. Can't believe he did that! He certainly doesn't mind killing off his characters, but why is it always the ones I like the most?

Now I've dropped that bombshell, I will explain, the death doesn't happen until right near the end, but I knew it was coming for a couple of chapters. Up to that point this book was so exciting and well written, I was...more

The book starts with Darren and his friends quickly leaving the underground passages to escape the Vampaneze and vampets. With them are two hostages, Steve Leopard (who reveals himself to be a half-vampaneze) and a vampet. Debbie has been taken hostage by R.V., Vancha tortures the vampet back at their base and finds out that only the Vampaneze Lord can kill the three hunters. Unfortunately, Steve had arranged for the police to find out about them and soon they are surrounded by the police and ar...more

About the Book:
When we last left Darren and the others, they were being arrested for the murders the vampaneze had committed. Now, they need to figure a way out and stop the Vampaneze Lord.

Review:
Maybe it's just me, but this particular trilogy felt more drawn out than the others. It was still an enjoyable read however. It was especially interesting to see how our heroes dealt with the human police force. Now, even though Killers of the Dawn kept a fast and intriguing pace, I still had issues wi...more

Ya you know the typical vampire storys where the average vampire drinks blood and can turn into a bat and fly away. But this is not one of those storys this is a story about a boy (that is at least 30) that does not age as fast as we do and doesnt turn into a bat and fly away when they feel like there losing a battle. No this is a book about Darren Shan a vampires assistent that will soon be a ex-vampires assistent. But before I can tell you that I have to tell you about everything else leading...more

The vampires continue to fight the ongoing war with the vampeneze, the War of the Scars as it is to be known. The vampaneze are an evil race of vampires who broke off from the Council hundreds of years ago and don't follow any of the vampire's rules of conduct; in particular, they have no respect for human lives.

As prophesied by Mr. Tiny, the three vampire hunters—Darren, Mr. Crepsley, and Vancha March—must defeat the Lord of the Vampeneze in one of four potential encounters. The fate of the en...more

I just finished reading this book yesterday and what a twist for horrors it was. The plot took a turn I knew was coming but did not want to believe it would. While this book is meant for horror and to make your insides squirm I found the ending was very depressing. I could not help but shed a tear for the outcome was not to my liking.

While the story was well written and nothing was wrong with it, my heart ached and I stuffed myself with cake that night. To avoid spoiling I will only say someone...more

This book was fantastic until they killed off Larten Crepsley!!! WHY would they kill of one of the main characters???? I am pissed beyond believe, very disapointed in the entire series now, and I don't know if I can even finish reading the final book's. I'm very upset by the ending, and I can only hope that I'll get over it and read on to find out that he somehow come's back to life or something, but I doubt that's gonna happen, can't believe the author killed him...

Killers of the Dawn, the ninth of Darren Shan’s CIRQUE DU FREAK books, continues right where Allies of the Night left off. The vampaneze have taken Debbie hostage in the tunnels under the city, but they’ve let Darren, Mr. Crepsley, and Vancha go. After escaping, Darren and company decide (not too smartly) to go back to the apartment they’ve been staying in where they have a run-in with the police. The rest of the plot involves captures, escapes, rescues, hiding, poor decisions, battles, death, a...more

This was most awesome! It was a little slow to start with but the fight in the cave was brilliant! I read this all today as I could hardly put it down! The ending is so upsetting though! Even though I have been told about the twist at the end - it in no way took away the suspense or excitement of the story, it just made me want to get to it quicker....
Only 3 more to go then the end :-(

An addicting story that wont let you go until you finish them all. Don't open this book unless you're ready to finish it within the hour. I enjoy the fact that each book was on the smaller scale, allowing them to easily be read in one sitting. Unfortunately, it also meant it was a pain to have to wait an entire evening to go back to the store and pick up the next two or three in the series. Author Darren Shan shows he has what it takes to write a compelling story brimming with suspense and horro...more

Mr. Darren Shan has outdone himself again with this book.

Picking up where the last book left off; Darren Shan, Mr. Crepsely, Vancha March, Harket Mulds, and their two hostages: a random vampet and Steve "Leopard" Leonard flee from the pursuing vampaneze only to be cornered by the police who think that they are responsible for the brutal killings in the previous book. Darren and his allies must escape and confront the Lord of the Vampaneze and end this conflict once in for all. The book concludes...more

This is the 9th book in the Cirque Du Freak series. In this book Darren is now a Vampire Prince and is with Mr. Crepsley, Vancha March, and Harkat Mulds, go into the sewers hoping to escape the media looking for them. According to the media they were vicious killers and they were on the run from the police. They also had a hostage, Steve Leonard, and one of his vampet friends. **Spoiler Alert**

This book postively broke my heart, I will openly admit that. Not only did it do it in a way that almost ripped it from my chest also it allowed the wound to bleed further with the clever taunting ways the author uses so well. Now I wish he didn't use them frequently, perhaps I would have been able to deal with the death in this book more easily, yet nothing really helped. You notice from the very begining the connections and emotions you tie to each character are not always app...more

The Vampaneze Lord says that he and Mr. Crepsley must fight one another alone with no help from anyone. The Vampaneze and Vampires stop their fighting. At last Mr. Crepsley kills the Vampan...more

My son got me into reading these books. I was very ill once and spent along time on the loo where he left his copy of Cirque du Freak book. Perhaps thats too much information.
I don't usually comment on any of these books because I just think they are all amazing and I would just be saying the same thing over and over again.
However, I found myself reading this at every free moment I got.
Killers of the Dawn has been my favourite in the saga because so much happens and I also find it amazing how...more

Killers of the dawn is about vampires. There is a vampire prince and he has to save his girlfriend and stop the lord of the vampaneze by killing him because he is the bad guy. But the thing is that they do not know what the Lord of the vamaneze looks like so that is their challenge. By "their" I mean the vampire prince and his crew. During his journey to try to kill the lord of the vampaneze, he also goes through a lot of problems that occur. Such as the human police force. They think that the v...more
