I bought this edition -- the first three books in this series -- on a whim, figuring it would be something quick and fun to read between other books. I was a bit worried that it was going to be a Laurel K. Hamilton knock-off, . Though it is certainly in the same vein (ha!) of Hamilton and Kelley Armstrong, et al., I think it's certainly strong enough to stand on its own. Where it diverges from Hamilton the most is that it's not an orgy. I know that's going to disappoint some of you, and I'm not...more

Recommends it for: Anyone who loves werewolves, vampires, faes, action, and romance.
Recommended to Ashleigh by: My mother.
Let me start off by saying that my mom likes to recommend me a lot of books, a lot. Most of them are pretty good, however there can be some that I did not like. Anyways she recommended that I read the 'Mercedes Thompson' series and she claimed it's one of the best series she's ever read. I was a bit skeptical at first, but I decided I should give it a try.
Now she gave me 'Preying For Mercy' which has the first three books of the series in one. It's a good thing to because if she handed me a copy...more

Moon Called--It took me a little to get into this book but once I did I was hooked. I really like Mercy and she isnt too self concieted like most females are in urban fantasy. I love how she is different buy being a coyote and not a wolf. Brigg's does a great job of setting up the town and story in this book. All of the characters are ones that are memorable and very likable.

Blood Bound--This book was centered around the vampires in the town. I like how instead of focusing on just the werewolves...more

★★★

There were times I totally loved this book and couldn't put it down and other times when I just could be bothered. Also small continuity errors with Mercy's gun at the end really got on my nerves. Fun book though, I like Mercy and the world she lives in and will definitely read more (could that be because this is an omnibus? Well, yes, but I would buy them separately if I didn't have them in this one handy volume...) Plus I'm sick of kids...more

After having bad luck with trying to find a decent book to read. I finally got my hands on this book. I'd been wanting to read the first book in the series (Moon Called) but couldn't find it anywhere. Then I was on my county library website and discovered Preying for Mercy which was the first three books of the series. I started reading it as soon as I got home that day.
I was hooked after the first chapter of Moon Called. The book's plot developed quickly and held my attention the whole time....more

I think this is the first time ever I checked a book out of the library with a half-dressed woman on the front. :p A friend recommended this as a complete escape novel, which is exactly what I was looking for. I decided to give it a try, despite the cover, and was immediately hooked. Don't let the cover fool you, this book is an adventure, not a romance, and it's not trashy. There are romantic elements but we don't have to read any play-by-plays! There was some mild language, and of course, the...more

Re-read this book (or set of three books) this week. I really enjoy Mercy as a heroine-- she's definitely brave, but not blessed of the strongest powers among her peers, and she's complicated without being annoying. I also like that she's not in her teens or early twenties-- not as much angst.

Filled with surprises and twists throughout, along with love, temptation and loyalty, Mercy is the strong female heroine you'd love to have for a friend. The stories are dark, and complex but Mercy is surrounded by friends who love her deeply (and some who WOULD like to love her deeply *wink*wink*) and do their best to help her out. Even with all that love and help, she does a good bit of butt-kicking on her own, and it's refreshing to find a woman who isn't afraid to handle tough situations her...more

This is book 1-3 of a series. I am checking it out to see if I like the writer or not. If I don't it goes on paperback swap LOL

I LOVE THIS SERIES!!! I can't wait to get more of this series. The main character is really easy to like a cheer for. I thought it was going to be like other books where they drag out the two men in love with the main character for several books, but it actually tied it up pretty well. I like how it isn't mainly a love story, but a mystery as well. Great read.

I won't start this review with a synopsis, since that is available under the book description.

I love this book! Mercedes's story is full of action and comedy. I love the characters a lot. The cover is absolutely amazing! I was loaned this book when I first read it, and knew I had to buy my own copy. I have recommended this book to a few people who have fell in love with this book themselves. This author is one of my top ten favorite authors.

i am love, love, loving this series! i just went out and bought the last 3 to the series, cause i am dieing to know what happens with adam and mercy. i already know they get married (one of the summaries ended up spoiling that), but i am anxious to see how it happens. i cant wait to see what happens to samuel either, and where stefan has been hiding. anyway, i am adoring the series!

If you enjoy the vampires-and-werewolves genre, you'll probably enjoy these. They're light and fluffy enough. More grown-up than the "Twilight" books, less pornographic than the "Sookie Stackhouse" series. Plenty of action, nothing overly challenging. But also nothing original, ground-breaking, or outstandingly clever, either. Call it entertaining. Diverting.

First book- Moon Called

I enjoyed the first book I am going to put finishing the other two off for now. I liked Moon Called, but it didn't make me want to/or make me excited to read the other two. I have a little review of Moon Called on my blog: http://wolfsecho.blogspot.com/2014/04...

I love this book. I didn't know it was 3 in one though until recently. I just bought the 4th book and I really want to get them all because these are worth having in your collection. MUST READ!!! I'm also glad that her little love triangle works out in the end.

Although I've read the three books contained in this one, I just love Mercy and find the books so enjoyable. I've finished Moon Called and am now reading Blood Bound. Patricia Briggs is one of my favorite authors, and a genuinely nice person to boot!

Picked this series up on the recommendation of a friend who knows my taste in the preternatural. This omnibus edition of the first 3 books was a great introduction to Patricia Briggs and Mercedes Thompson. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series!
Ann
This book has the first 3 in the series all in it. The story is about a walker (shape shifter not a were) named Mercedes aka Mercy. I loved it!
The first story is mainly about werewolfs, the secind vampires and the third the Fae. all awsome
Monica Skeens
I truley enjoyed all three of these books. She kept each story interesting in its own way. It was a fun read with a lot of different characters and many action scenes and some romance. I cannot wait for the next one to come out.
Kimberly
This book is what I own and is a compulation of books 1-3 of the Mercy Thompson series. I love it when they combine books like this! It makes it easy to read and easy to have on my ever growing book self.
Judith
I keep getting into series! I really enjoy Patricia Briggs' writing ... each book captures me and I lose track of time and also lose sleep due to the old "one more page" syndrome.
Sarah
This was such a good book. And it was awesome to read all three of the first books in one book. I couldn't put it down.

this is a nice collection of the 1st 3 books. I took it to ComicCon 2 years ago and got it signed!

Loved it! Wish I would've bought the second book rather than the 3rd accidentally! Now I have to wait!
Rita
Kinda junky and incredibly derivative, but still a fun read.
