Ohkaaaaayyyyy...........BIG ASS SPOILER ALERT

This book has one of the stupidest heroines i have ever read about. I mean her IQ must be lower then a cold winter's night in good ole Arctic.

A guy she had the hots for as a teen rolls into town looking like QUOTE- a tribute to the god STEROID!!! I dunno what the author wanted to achieve with that but my mind produced an image of a fake tanned wrestler in spandex with socks stuffed in the front, cause we all know the counterproductive effect of stero

Sometimes I really like a light hearted read. Throw in some humor, pretty face-paced storyline and some shapeshifting characters that have some hot chemistry together, and well I am in Heaven!

Emma has always felt like an outcast. She and her best friend Becky partner in a trinket story called "Wallflowers" and both women have always been accused of being somewhat eccentric in the town they live in.

Emma has never felt like a raving beauty. She is considered too short, too overweight (by today's
This is basically a novella, more than a book. It's not bad, good start to a series, I guess.

The gist:
* Girl falls for boy
* Boy leaves town
* Boy returns to town (a werepuma)
* Boy realizes ... damn, I should'a nailed (I mean, claimed) her sooner
* Girl can't believe her luck ... oh, ok, if I have to be a werepuma to have him, sure why not, no biggy
* Boy is uberpleased with his choice of mate

The End

Oh, there was also a quickie "I like him, but he certainly couldn't like me" (and visa versa) goin'

This book is somewhere between a 2,5 and a 3 for me. Sadly, although the writing and the idea was surprisingly good, the book contained some the things I don't enjoy much in PNR.

1) Insta-love. Now this wasn't just insta-love, it was love at the speed of light. The hero said the "precious 3 words" to the heroine in HOURS. Not days, hours. I mean they did know each other in high school(years ago) but they weren't friends or an item so this meeting counts as the "first c
Emma Carter has always held a torch for Max Cannon, who she secretly crushed on in high school. Ten years later she co-owns a curio shop with her best friend and Max has returned, always one to fade into the woodwork Emma has no problem just listening to the town gossips about what he is up to, rather than pursue her feelings.

Alpha Max is glad to be home, and now is looking for his mate. When he overhears Emma's lusty voice on the phone with his beta, he is curious to see her again. It takes onl

Okay, first of all, they weren't kidding about the explicit sex. I decided to give this book a go despite the fact that I tend to like my heat rating closer to warm than so-hot-I'm-blushing. After all, it's been on more shifter book lists than I can count. But it was also (no surprise) on the list of books for wallflower heroines. It doesn't really apply, in my opinion, as the heroine was formerly a wallflower but is no longer at the star

I read Bear Necessities first and loved it so of course I wanted to go back to where it all began so I jumped right into this one. Max and Emma (and Simon and Becky) are secondary characters in Bear Necessities so I wanted to see how they got started.

This was a nice, quick read. Perhaps too quick. I wasn't too thrilled when the story ended at 75% on my Kindle and then jumped into excerpts. I don't read excerpts (ever) so I wasn't too happy about that. Especially considering that the first excerp

I love Dana Marie Bell and I never had the opportunity to rate her books so I've reading them again to provide some well deserved commentary.

I will say that I have read this particular book five times and I love the chemistry between the H/h, Max and Emma. They were engaging and humorous. The Lion-O reference was laugh-out-loud hilarious...I loved the Thundercats growing up so the reference prompted nice childhood memories.

In the need for a light shifter romance and this book did the tr
This was super cute! Emma is a feisty little human who's had a crush on Max, the Alpha to the Halle Pride of Pumas, for like ever! (Although she doesn't know he's a cat!) Max returns home after years away for school and such and is looking for his mate. Sparks fly... clothes fly... you get the picture! :) I liked Emma for her spunkiness and how she didn't take crap from anyone! Max is a hot guy who takes what he wants - literally - , namely Emma!

During the whole book I waited for the story to actually start. The book finished and I was left waiting.
It was annoying, I didn't like it.

I love that she had the shifters be puma. I haven't found many with puma shifters, only a handful. I also liked the alpha power, which I think is probably a combination of how they present themselves, and pheromones their bodies produced. I almost gave it a 4 star, when she first shifted, because she was still in clothes, but it worked out so it gets a five :P would have liked more shifting though, only happened a few times

A big 'Meh' for me. The sex was OK and the story was cute, but there really wasn't much here. I've reader hotter sex and cuter stories.

This books was a joke, it felt like a Teens book disguised as an adult PNR. All the gossip the bitchy cheerleader and her desperate girlfriend with their scheming and lack of any self respect. The wallflowers who get the 2 hottest guys, the 'hot' guys who suddenly notice and fall in love with them in a day, and random shifting into Pumas that really had nothing to do with the story and was just thrown in to make the story paranormal.

This was light fluff, super light, almost air, with just as mu

I really enjoyed this book. It was an impulse buy while I was browsing for something to download to my SDR. I don't usually just buy books without researching the author first but I was feeling impulsive...and I'm glad I gave into impulse! I started and finished it within two hours and my only complaint is that it was entirely too short! :)

I liked the premise of this book...and because I assumed it was a free teaser on Kindle I purchased the second one. My thought was that Mrs. Bell hadn't had the leasure to develope a full plot. Nope. The second book I read was just as cheap, just as sex ridden and just as plot-less.
THREE AND A HALF STARS--A slightly cutesy puma shape shifter short story where the wallflower, shy heroine gets the guy she's been lusting after for years. Emma is plump and hated by the town's popular mean girls...sounds like a YA set-up but it's not. Though at times the characters acted as if there weer in a paranormal version of 'Mean Girls'. At times the men even talked like girls. There was a part when Emma called Max a girl and agreed.

So other than the high school drama kind of feel and t

What the hell did I just read? Certainly not a book that deserves an averaged rating of 3.82.

This was complete trash. The entire novel was way too rushed, and because of this, the characters were never allowed to change/grow in a realistic way, nor was the reader allowed to connect with any of the characters. That's a shame because I could really see myself liking Emma and Becky, perhaps even Max. But because the novel was so rushed, I hated Max (view spoiler)

Max holy male hotness! "hot damn, Max thought, watching the little dynamo that was Emma in action. Why the hell didn't I stop by here sooner? He'd been busy setting up his practice, true, but you'd think he'd have made the time to stop by. Be neighborly." Max plays dirty to get what he wants from Emma, "hmmm. In that case, I suggest we go out to eat. Maybe after I feed you you'll be more willing to tell me what I want." And he's blunt, "and then I'm going to take you home and eff you raw." As he ...more

I have only read a few of Dana Marie Bell's books, but I have enjoyed the ones I have read. Two things that have been consistent: one, there is humor and two, there is steamy hot sex!!

This one was a very quick read, but I really enjoyed it and felt that the story was totally complete despite the length. I am definitely going to read the rest of the series.

If you like this type of book, you might enjoy one of these groups. Chec

The Wallflower is an excellent read. I was continuously smiling throughout and some times was even laughing out loud. Emma has some brilliant lines in the book and Max's reactions to her quips are classic.

Emma and Becky are best friends who run The Wallflower store in Halle. They are unaware of the Pumas that also live in the town and it isn't until dreamy Max Cannon comes back to town that they are exposed to some weird furry stuff. Handling whatever comes their way, Emma and Becky are no longe

Could have been much better This had cliches galore.

Pretty much everything you expect in shifter romance novels: Mating including insta-love, dominance of the alpha, possessiveness bordering on obsession, the bitchy rival who wants the alpha for herself etc.

But. It was fun to read. Emma, the female protag, was funny. She is wasted in this book, as the male lead is very very uninteresting. He is basically the hunky Fabio turned Shifter wet-dream material. And possessive and incredible powerful as

Absolutely charming and funny. I just wished it was a full story, it only took me an hour to read it and it was well worth the $2.62 kindle price I paid for it. Emma is a little spit-fire that Max is completely enamored with. The story, of course, moves quickly to them getting together and Emma proving she is perfectly capable of being the pack Curana. It may seem that Emma comes to accept her new world as a Puma shifter a little too quickly, but just sit back and enjoy the ride, it's a wonderfu ...more
3 to 3.5 Stars!

This story started a little slowly for me, but then it picked up once the hero and his 2nd-in-charge were introduced. This was a quick read and overall I enjoyed it. It's funny and very sexy; although, it was a little hard to believe how accepting (and how quickly) everyone was okay with learning of the local were-puma population.

A recommended read for shifter lovers. Be advised it ends at 75% on your Kindle.
It has been a little while since I read this book but here is what I recall...

I love the series!! Yummy romance involving shifters. Plenty of steamy action and a touch of humor!

Definitely a series to get into! I started it and didn't stop until I reached the last book that was released! I am always looking for the next book!

If you like steamy shifter romances this is a series to look into!!!!

2.5 stars: Cute, fun, entertaining sexy shapeshifter romance. I liked the characters and the relationship, however the storyline could have been beefed up a bit more. I would have liked a more development of Max/Emma's relationship before he claimed her and more development around the pack, its structure, etc.

“Simon told me I should take you home and start making kits. What do you think?” Max looked down at her, love and lust glowing equally in his brilliant smile. “Max?” “What?” His tone was wary; he’d come to expect the unexpected when she used that particular tone of voice. “Will I give birth to a baby or a litter?” “Emma,” he groaned. “I mean, will we be feeding them baby formula or Kitten Chow?” “Emma!” “If they get stuck in a tree, who do we call? Does the fire department do kitten rescues anymore? This is important stuff to know, Lion-O!” “God save me.” 8 likes
“Emma?” “Hmm?” “You took everything I told you really well.” “I’ve never understood the woe-is-me thing. I mean, the hottest guy in town just told me he wants me badly enough to bite me and make me like him, and now he wants to drag me home and ravish me. I’m going to, what, run screaming into the night? Oh, no! I’m a Puma now! My life is over! Sob!” Emma rolled her eyes. “I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s freaking me out a bit, and it’s probably going to cost me a fortune in bikini waxing, but it’s not the end of my world.” Max nearly ran off the road. “You get a bikini wax?” “Wouldn’t you like to know?” “Hell yes.” 7 likes
