Oh my goodness, I just loved Cory. He is my dream of a cowboy. He's a really good guy and a knight in shining armor. He's good-looking but very down to earth. He thinks he's no good with women, for all the things. If he was real, I'd be chasing him down. He takes in a woman and her child who are obviously running from someone, and his heart recognizes his true love in her. He also falls in love with her young child. Race doesn't even factor in. This is a pretty short novel - I guess you'd call it a novella. As such, I found myself wanting to know more about Cory and Stephanie. I just didn't feel there was enough space in the book for full character development, and I wished it had been longer.
The story was very good, though. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. I'd like to read more (longer) works by this author. It was worth the $2.50 I paid although I read it in about 45 minutes.

I'd like to give it more stars because the premise was a good one and a good outline of the characters was there. The problem is there was a lot Ms. Azod wanted to tell and not enough time to tell it. A sweet story that needed more filling in, we were told a lot instead of being shown some of those things. Can't leave out that it needed a read through before it was published, that lack of editing does take away something from the overall experience.
This was an engaging read, and I don't want to give any spoilers but the ending had me biting my nails!
love prevails... truly a good read
