My first book, published with the Xeric Grant in 1998, is comprised of the bulk of the first 4 or 5 years of my self-syndicated biweekly comic strip "Curbside," which runs in gay and alternative papers around the country to this very day (though in very few now). The book is now out of print and quite expensive (sells for a hundred bucks and up on Amazon and other online used book sellers, jeez). Robert Kirby has been drawing and publishing comics since 1991. His self-syndicated comic strip “Curbside” (1991-2008) was collected in two books: Curbside, published with the Xeric Grant in 1998, and Curbside Boys (2002, Cleis Press).
