"Like Dandelion Dust" is the very emotional story of Jack and Molly Cambell, a loving couple living with their four year old adopted son Joey in a quiet and peacful town in Florida. Their whole world turns upside down when a call from a social worker reveals that the biological parents of Joey want him back. Since Jack and Molly have already adopted him, they believe that this is impossible to do, but after the discovery that Joey's biological mother forged her husbands signature to...more

The book was very slow moving in the beginning and as seems to be true to form for Christian Chic Lit, the "righteous" sister is being slammed for being a Christian by the other sister. Of course when the other sister is in crisis the Christian sister is able to lead her to God. At times I found myself on the brink of tears. What happens to the adoptive family and little Joey would just have to be everyone's fear. I really did like the book, in general, but wish that Christian writ...more

Though I read some of Kaen's novels a few years back and loved them, I stumbled on this one because they were filming part of the movie based on this book at Mickler's Landing. They used the house to the immediate right of the boardwalk. It is owned by Christians. After Pete and I saw the movie set and asked what movie they were shooting, I ran to the bookstore for this one. I had not chosen it previously b/c it would be painful for me to read. It's about a couple faced with losing their ad...more

This book is far from my usual picks, being written by a Christian author, but one highly recommended by my Grandma, to whom I promised I would read it! The book is about a little four year-old boy, happily living with his adoptive parents, who is returned to his biological parents after a technicality is discovered. His adoptive family- perfect, financially secure, happy, etc., his biological parents poor, unemployed, ex-con, abusive father. The book examines the feelings of all parties, the...more

Jack and Molly Campbell are the adoptive parents of four-year-old Joey. They are a family that enjoys life, and life gets even better for Molly when her sister/best friend, Beth, moves to town with her husband and four children. But things take a turn for the worse for the Campbells when, Wendy and Rip Porter, Joey’s biological parents, decide they want their son back.

Once we are introduced to the characters in this story it is obvious what the major conflict is going to be: four-year-old Joey's biological parents want him back on a technicality, while the adoptive parents cannot imagine losing their child. It takes a while for the plot to get going, but as it progresses you become more deeply involved with each of the characters and your heart wars over the deep issues probed. What would you do if you realized you had a second chance with your only son? What...more

Real good book about a 4yr old boy who lives with his adoptive parents then is returned to his birth parents because the birth mom never told the birth dad that she had a kid. SHe forged his signature on adoption papers. The birth dad was in jail when the boy was born. They get visiting rights and the birth dad is real mean and strict. They books ends the way it should have. The toughest decesion a mom would ever have to make in her lifetime. Really good.

Not something I probably would have picked up on my own, but my mom recommended it to me. It's the story of adoptive parents who have their adoption challenged after having the boy for 5 years. The birth mother gave the boy up for adoption because her husband was abusive and she found out she was pregnant after he went to prison. She forged his name on the adoption papers, so when he gets out of prison and finds out he has a son they challenge the adoption. Definitely heart-wrenching at time...more

I still get cold chills thinking about what it would be like to have to give up a child.... I'm not sure what I would have been willing to do had I been placed in this situation.

This is my absolute favorite Karen Kingsbury book. So many twists, Karen has a wonderful ability make fiction read just like life. Trial, tragedy, love, hope, frusteration... she weaves them all together and shows how God works despite all the situations. Not a read for people who would like to ignore real life. Karen's books are referred to as living fiction for a reason. I love how this story ends, it shows how God can work in impossible situations.

As I found in other books by this author the character intros were awkward, but once the story got rolling I was hooked. I couldn't put the book down, because I had to find out how this unthinkable predicament would be resolved. Admission: I peeked at the last page to make sure everyone I cared about was ok in the end, or else I could not have gone to sleep with the book unfinished!

I really liked this book -- very well written.
In a quiet Florida town, life is idyllic for Jack and Molly Campbell and their 4-year-old son, Joey. But one day a phone call shatters their peace. A social worker reports that Joey's biological father, newly released from prison, wants his son back. Can Jack devise a plan to circumvent a judge's devastating decision?
