What pleasure it is to be able to sit down and write a review of a truly enjoyable book such as this one. As I sit here typing I am listening to some music from one of the greatest composers of the 19th Century, Frederic Chopin. Fitting no less, as this book provides the reader with a guide through the City of Paris as seen and experienced by Chopin during his time there.

Brilliant. I havent enjoyed a book so much in a long time. I learnt so much and the chapter on Napoleon was a real eye opener. I loved the idea of the book too. Instead of a he did this then he did thatbiography, immersing oneself in the world that Chopin was living in was so valuable in helping to understand him a bit more. Terrific. My next read is Atwoods other book on Chopin. ...more
