Recommends it for: beginning readers and parents reading with them
This is a fun and simple mystery that helps encourage beginning readers. The narrative is fairly short and simple and the illustrations are big and colorful. I love that they visit the library in this story. We've enjoyed reading the books in The Boxcar Children series by Gertrude Chandler Warner. This is the eleventh book in The Adventures of Benny and Watch, a series of early readers for younger children who aren't yet ready for chapter books.
