I didn't travel to Algeria with this; I used it as a sourcebook for a story set in contemporary Algeria. As such, it's interesting, and like all the Lonely Planet books I've read, it has a nice mix of history-culture and practical information. I can't speak to its accuracy but as a writing sourcebook it gave me lots of wonderful ideas.

Not too shabby a travel-guide, considering it's the first English one I've come across. Everything in there seems to be accurate..I wish there were more photos but...
There are quite a few places I would have personally added in there, but maybe it's for the best. Some places ( example: the little shop that supposedly sells plastic baskets on Rue Moh. Khemisti but actually has the best money exchange rates on the black market &, even better, randomly also sells masses of great vintage Frenc
