I didn't really need to hear anyone formally refute Spong, as I had already categorized him as elitist and outrageously heretical, but since I rarely read anything from an Episcopal point of view I thought this might be interesting. It was, for unexpected reasons.

Despite Spong's thoroughly modernist underpinnings, I believe he shares some similar theological convictions and a common trajectory with some of the more liberal (or conversational, if you prefer) Emergent luminaries. Given that, many
