Through writing this book I learned so much about inspirational women down through history right up to the current day. The women in my book are missionaries and martyrs, teachers and preachers, single women and married, traditionalists and trendsetters. I like this book because it offers short but legendary biographies of women all over the world who have stood up for what they have believed in a number of ways and forms. This book could be used in the classroom when discussing womens history or used as an opening to the morning classroom. However, it is also a good idea to find a similar book with stories about men who have made a difference as well to give a balanced approach. This book opens up to all ethnicities of women. It was nice to read about some women that I had never heard of who did quite a lot of standing up for their faith. This is a day to day devotional for a year, but definitely not much of a devotional. It is a sum up of many lives who served God and others.
