Normally these books focus on just one event in American history and do quite well explaining to students the basics of that event. This book, however, tried to focus on a person, the Battle of Ticonderoga which the author labeled the most important event in that person's life, the Green Mountain Boys and the role they played during the American Revolution, and the battle for Vermont's statehood. All of this was too much to try to cover in one basic book for students, and it came across as unfoc ...more
