For those seriously interested in the MA, this is a good resource book. It primarily traces the history of the education of noble children from the early to later middle ages period. Its focus is on how educational materials and subjects were developed and what educational resources children were exposed to at what ages. If you are reading it to learn about the subjects themselves and what was taught during this time period, then you might be disappointed. However, the book is well written and ...more
I enjoyed this thematic book about aristocratic childhood, if nothing else, because it is different to everything else I've seen. It didn't tell me anything new about my topic but it was, nonetheless, interesting.
