This is one of those rare books on revolutionary leftist thought that is written in clear and fully accessible language. And yet, Lebowitz avoids the kind of speculative thinking that dooms so many similar books to the real of fantasy. Lebowitz basis his analyses on years of observations of actual on-the-ground socialist experiments in the Americas. This is a philosophical book about the importance of ideas like "full development of human potentioal", "human development as the core of socialism", "the necessicity for worker and community management", "expansion of the commons", "socialist mode of regulation" etc. If stuff like this sounds new and interesting to you, maybe you will find this book is for you. Myself, I was looking for answers for more practical questions, and none of them can be found here.
