Why? Why? Why! Why do I keep on doing this to myself? I keep on.

So months ago, I put this book on hold at the library because I tried to read some of the Honey B works. They were waaaay to much for me, but I picked up this book anyway. Then let it sit in my vast home library, lurking like the creature that time forgot. Recently, I got an email from the public library in my area. Apparently, I owed like $87,000 in fines because I had never bothered to remember to read this thing and return it. I
More Story Please!

Three married men and friends behave as if they are single. As a premise, it was worth exploring.

Unfortunately, "Single Husbands" has something else in mind. Just what, I'm not sure. Despite being told from multiple points of view, with alternating chapters told in the voices of the men, I didn't feel I knew them any better at the end of the book as I did with the beginning. Their egomaniacal behavior swamped their identities and any other qualities they possessed. With the ex

Single Husbands or Out-of-Control Sex Addicts?

Mary "HoneyB" Morrison, started the novel "Single Husbands" off with an interesting perspective on marriage, and the concept that fidelity is not apart of marriage vows/contracts. She asserts that women too often get the short end of the stick in the marriage union. Much of her thesis, I actually agreed with.

After the introduction, and I am sure I am not alone, I felt I was taken on an all-out f&^%-fest. The few sentences in between the numerous s
Perfect title but…

“Single Husbands” is the perfect title by author Honey B for this fast read that features three married men and their wives. This story throws the doors wide open on three marriages which from the outside looking in seems to be perfect, but we readers get a ring side seat to view what’s REALLY going on behind close doors!
“Marriage vows…what’s that?” Could have been another title considered here. The couples all know each other and the husbands are best of friends. These marria
I have won this book since March 2009, and finally wanted to read it. The cover looks like a modeling magazine, title is quite intriguing, and the introduction had me sold (with my gold highlighter when she shares her views on marriage, license, and things that should tie things together whether you are a Christian or not when you say I do!). However, she also has in bold lettering, warning...sexually explicit, which I do not typically read. So I may be setting myself up for temptation...or try ...more
umm this book was nothing that i was expecting. but i think the thing that made me lose respect for the author was the very last part of book where she was telling a little about her story. I do not condone cheating at all...and for her to admit and objectify the "its ok" or "its normal" attitude for having affairs, i do not like at all. I'm 22 years old and look forward to getting married one day and not ever will i make it seem like it is ok for my husband to sleep around and i will not respec ...more
This book was missing a solid storyline. Basically, it was chapter after chapter of people having sex. I suffered through the book because I paid $22 for it.
must read
Herschel, Brian, and Lexington didn't take their vows seriously at all. If one didn't know any better they would've sworn they were all single. Herschel had to face reality because he not only had an unhappy wife but also a baby momma, a lover, and occasional flings. He was doing any and everything while trying to figure out who he truly was. I wanted to punch Brian because he was wrong. Michelle went above and beyond to keep her husband happy but sometimes that wasn't enough. Knowing what Miche ...more
This sexy tale of three single husbands is tantalizing, unpredictable, and repulsive all in one. The stand out couple is without a doubt Herschel and Nikki Henderson. Both are the headlining stars of this novel and the majority of the other characters are just their pawns. Nikki is a celebrity erotic sex recipe chef banking über-millions flying around the country taping television segments and showcasing her culinary skills for wealthy clients. Herschel is basically a kept man, living and taking ...more
"Single Husbands" is a dramatic, sex induced, and hellish journey through the lifestyles and marriages, or lack thereof, of three men. Herschel, Lexington and Brian are three men etched from the same stone; they can't help but cheat. The men are far from knowing the definition of marriage or fidelity. This is the way they are and have always been. Why change because of marriage? The women stand their ground throughout, even though it doesn't change a thing. Each couples journey comes full circle ...more
have to give credit where credit is due and Mary B. Morrison aka Honey B is an excellent writer. The character's were real and the story was fast-paced.

It was about three men and one woman, all of whom have been married for 10 years and none of them are faithful. It was a wild ride into their sexual exploits and it is not for the weak at heart. I thought I was open minded and can usually read a book without being overly judgmental about the morality of the characters. This book proved me wrong.
I am smack dab in the middle of this book. Call me naive or silly but I had no idea this was an erotic novel (LOL) seeing as I have never, before this book, read or even heard of Mary "HoneyB" Morrison. Getting over the initial "surprise" of that, I had to really laugh out loud at the review that said "this is NOT the kind of book you want to be caught reading in public." OMG, too true! I was on the train when I started this book and you should have seen my eyes bulge (like the trouser snakes of ...more
Very interesting perspective on marriages. Very steamy page turner. Only one who came out on top (no pun intended) was Brian. Herschel learned to be himself and accept who he was and stop lettng Nikki disrespect him. Lexington got what he deserved. Brian's mother in law went all out to catch him in the act and it ended up back firing on her because Michelle did not leave Brian. Like Nikki said Michelle already knew who Brian was and is. I think that once you understand who they are they you know ...more
2.5 stars...

This book was hard to review because it left me feeling so unsettled, but not in a good way. The book has a lot of sex, which I can appreciate, but it's not good sex. It's dirty, stanky, cheating sex and it did nothing for me. Also, the women in the book are a strange lot. Is this how Black women are really perceived? I believe so and it's sad. I was disappointed with the ending and honestly... I just didn't know what to make of it all. All of the nasty ass men got off way too easil
This book was good and it kind of annoyed me a little being that these married men were walking around acting single. This is the reason why so many of us are single (LOL).
I could read this book all over again!

Loved it!!!
This is the first book I have read by HoneyB. I knew this book was probably pushing the envelope a bit just by the vary nature of the title. I didn't like the way the story hoped all around, and I kept having to ask now who is this again? I think overall it tells an ok story about three separate types of married men (unfortunately all black married men). I think as women we know if we are dating/married to any one of these types of men. It's just a matter of what we are willing to admit and acce ...more

While I understand that Mary B. Morrison has a knack for pushing the envelope and keeping it hot, I'd hoped that she'd also include a story with some balance, a good plot and substance. I don't know if the story was lost in the writing, editing or if it was deliberate, but I like my sex with at least a nice slice of story. I think that this may be the last read for me and Mary. I'm sure many will enjoy her erotic tales, but I need a story to follow with my helping.

I knew going into this read that it was an explicitly adult book..but wow wow wow on the twists and turns that occurred on the way! It definitely confirmed some thoughts I had about how married people think and are able to justify their actions. I would definitely recommend this book to those that ar naive enough to believe their spouse is perfect because in fact no one is perfect but most of us make an attempt to make our decisions with our and our spouses best interest in mind.

I love this book. I never realize in a million years that these kind of things happen. Three different relationships was off the chain. I was married seventeen years and our relationship was absolutely nothing like this. Wow

Recommends it for: Those who love a drama filled story.
I am sure a few reader were shocked at the over the top sex acts. For me this Erotic fiction filled with drama was well written, you could feel the good, the bad and the ugly in each character. Even felt some sorrow for a couple of the characters. This story invoked anger, laughter and sadness, it was a page turner to see what these crazy characters would do next, not to mention who would do it next.

My favorite quote from the book is : "I'm very serious, mother".
could've done without the explicit sex in this times i wanted to burn this book but since i spent my hard earned money on this book, i suffered through it and finished. I have read books from this author under Mary Morrison and i liked those books but so far the books under Honey B have been tasteless. And i've really tried to give her a chance. ughhhh....
lots of gratuitous casual sex. good message buried underneath maybe a bit too much bootie. afterward, i wondered why, with all the across-the-board fellating, there wasn't some mention of at least one STD. I did appreciate the Tantric couple, Brian and Michelle. for the most part.

Like the oook. Love the questions it brought up. Fast paced and sexually charged. I good read. Warning do not read if you have a problem with explicit language or homosexuality.

This book was so hard to get through since it was beyond bad. I thought it would be instering, but all the characters were terrible and I could not find one that I liked. I never want to hear about this book again. I think I lost brain cells just reading it.

Ok you all know that Honey B is Mary B Morrison right!?! Ok this book was a trip. It really shows you how some sneaky men are, ladies watch out when you meet men in other states, unfamiliar surrounding, or hell period. You never can tell.
I'm glad I borrowed this book from the library. I get what the book was trying to do, but all of the sex took away from the message. I'm sure that people live their lives like this, but I couldn't relate.
So, this is one of those books that I had to invoke the 100 page limit to. I just couldn't finish it. Too much erotica and not enough plot.
