Kyrin and Daeshen are two men of the Ta'e'sha people, very similar to humans but with the capacity to shapeshift like a merman. In their planet a virus has caused that all the women are sterile, so the Ta'e'sha men have decided to take humans women as brides. Only a little problem, they don't ask to the chosen before the mating. And kidnap them.
Kyrin and Daeshen are also lovers. But in the Ta'e'sha tradition, a family could be of six people, no matters what sex. So they decide to ta...more

I tried to read this last night and just couldn't get through it. It wasn't super badly written, but there were a couple issues I couldn't get past. The first was that characters POVs were not very clear so i kept wondering whose POV I was in. Like The heroine can't "feel her cream coat his probing fingers." That would be "felt" be the guy with the fingers!
The second problem I had wasn't entirely the author's fault. I'm pretty tired of erotic sci-fi where th...more

Admittedly i only skimmed over the first couple of pages but that already
led me to one very interesting conclusion.
Immediately prior to this book i read "Comfort Food" by Kitty Thomas, a book containing slavery and heavy-bdsm with no or at best dubious consent throughout the entire story.
Still, i find this book a whole lot creepier and scarier.
In "Comfort Food" at there is this whole theme and progression of intial resistance, stockholm-syndrom....more

Pretty saucy, enough story line to be interesting and a dabble of sex to keep it flowing. Parts of the plot were interrupted- there are conversations or situations that add merit to the plot but they weren't completely necessary. The main character had some really interesting personality swings- she's shy, she's adventurous, she's pissed off about something, she has these feminist pouting sessions, and then some submissive moments. If she was consistent it would add to the character's solid pres...more
This book starts off like every other erotic sci-fi romance. Before too long Theolyn Boese drags you in with her great characters and strong storyline. I read this when it first came out in ebook format and have read it umpteen times since. This whole series is wonderful but I don't know where the author has went. I (and other fans) have been waiting for a couple of years for the next installment. The author still has her web site up but hasn't updated it in years and doesn't answer emails. It i...more
This was an interesting read....while the story as a whole was good I really enjoyed the short chapters on the interactions of the Gods/Goddesses from the two worlds.... and their plotting.... defiantly going to read the second one cause I just have to know what exactly Skye and Gaia have sent to their daughters....
I loved this from the Epilogue

I was completely surprised by this story. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. The story started off in the typical alien abduction way. Woman stolen for mating purposes. I found myself rolling my eyes and thinking that this story was just an excuse for porn. But then the plot developed and I really got to know and care about the characters. When Theo goes through something very traumatic and terrifying, I found myself crying and grieving with her. The author definitely didn't pull any ...more
Wasn't sure I was in the mood for another alien abduction, multiple partner, bdsm erotica but I found the other parts of the story caught my interest. Or, maybe I was just in the mood after all, but I enjoyed it.
Really enjoyed this book. I'm looking forward to reading book 2 in this series. You really feel connected to the characters and their story. It's a good shapeshifter/futuristic novel that will draw you in. There's a mix of erotica, suspense, and a little violence, but it was all handled rather well. You can't help but to fall in love with Kyrin and Daeshen, they're two men any woman would be happy to have. I'm always wary of ménage novels because I end up feeling like someone is the odd man out,...more
Jaid Black did it better in the Trek Mi Q'an series.
The cover was beautiful but the book was somewhat dissapointing. Maybe it was just to short and needed more of a back story. I came see it being interesting if more was added.

The name Theolyn Boese is a pen name with a bit of history behind it. Theolyn, pronounced Thay-o-lyn, is my great grandmothers middle name on my mothers side of the family. The closest we've come to finding a definition is "divine lightning" or "power/ruler of the lake/pool/waterfall." It is Old English, but mom's family is from Norway. Boese, pronounced Bay-zee, is my grandmot...more
