I went into this giving all the stories a benefit of a doubt because they are mostly by unpublished, struggling writers, and it's never good to be too harsh on beginners. But that being said, it doesn't make the stories any better than they are. A couple of them were just horrible, but I won't talk about those. I got this book on some sale in Amazon, I was looking for something short to read on Kindle. I`m not the biggest fan of anthologies, but figured it might be worth a try. Well, now I`m done and can share my feelings.
This book is a collection of stories, which should be scary or at least disturbing, but I`m afraid not all of those stories are. My absolute faves are "ProMem" by Niall McMahon, "The Wild Hunt" by Charlotte Bond, "Tiw`s Cup" by Tony Walsworth, "The Film" by Emily Gee and "Undying" by

Let’s make our voices heard. Easier to say than to do for the many writers struggling to find a publisher for their stories. That is why projects such as the Spinetinglers Anthology (2008) are more than welcome. This collection of 25 + 1 short "horror" stories, collected over a year and picked up as the best among a far larger selection on the homonymous website, can truly be a window on what is moving underground.

I so wanted these stories, reader favorites from an online magazine, to be good -- but sadly all they did was illustrate why writers need good editors. Clumsy prose and familiar tropes.
