Recommends it for: Engineers and Physicist
This is not an easy book and my high rating may be a little controversial. It is based on two things: 1) Dr. Chung's coverage of continuum mechanics reveals it for what it is: one of the most useful and far-reaching subjects in physics and engineering, and 2) I was fortunate enough to have taken a course on continuum mechanics from Dr. Chung during my 2nd year of grad school, and therefore have the benefit of his personal insight and extensive class notes to aid my understanding of the subject. ...more
