I have to say i really liked this book. However, i did have to skip two entire parts (a couple pages each) that hinted to more that just kissing. I don't like reading that sort of thing. I did like the way she discribed the kissing though, when that is all it was. It was easy to tell when the other stuff started and ended so that made it easy to skip.
I really liked the plot and the way it was written. I am sure i will read more of her books (I will have to be careful to skip if needed.)

Set in late Victorian times, this book had the advantage of looser and less rigid rules in society than the earlier Regency period while at the same time being more rigid in the area of scandals and morals. Adam Hardesty and Caroline Fordyce deal with various levels of scandal and sensation as they attempt to determine who has murdered two women. In the process they find each other, not an unusual formula with Ms. Krentz, but why argue with success?

I was really disappointed with this after enjoying Quick's Lavinia Lake series. I'm afraid the authors obsession with mesmerism gets annoying... I don't remember it being as bad in the Lake series, then again maybe I just liked Lavinia and Tobias much better. Have one more of her books to read but I think that's it for me and Ms. Quick.

Another story about a woman with a dark secret in her past and a dark stranger on her door. I have to admit this book really made me laugh. Poor Mr. Hardesty being so concerned by being turned in the villain of Caroline Fordyce's sensation novel. Although, not one of Quick's best work, it was fun to read.

Easy to read. I would recommend it to read over the weekend, when you want to rest and not think to much
