#3 in the Christine Bennett series. In this 1993 entry, Chris is less than a year removed from being a nun. She gets a call from Maddie, a High School friend, inviting her to the Christening of the friend's infant. 30 years ago, the Southern Tier New York State town of Studsburg was flooded by a new dam. All residents were supposed to be gone by June 30, but the Army commander extended the deadline to July 4th to allow Maddie to be born and Christened and to permit a July 4th fireworks gala.
