I've been so good lately! I've been fulfilling my need to read things not on my bookcase by utilizing my local library. Huzzah! This title had been on my amazon.com wishlist for quite some time. I think I was attracted to it because a.) cute cover, b.) main character's name is Jaine Austen. Will I never learn? This was a pretty ho-hum mysteryvery little suspense; uninspired characters; predictable; tried very hard to be witty and failed (at least for me). I also wasn't a fan of the...more

I picked this up from reading a short story collection. I thought the author's voice was fun and sassy. When I read a full book of hers, though, there was too much worry about sex to the point that I felt it detracted from the mystery. I think I'd like her writing more if it were cleaner, but I'm not planning on going back to find out.

I just love these series!!! Mostly I just love mysteries but I love that they had humor to the story. The main character is very much like me and just really a girl that I think most women can relate to. I can usually read these books in a day or 2. They are just good light-reads but still have that good mystery to them.

This book kept me entertained. Even though it was a murder mystery, the story was lighthearted - it had a sense of humor. It's hard to take the character seriously, but at the same time her gut instincts were eventually right.

I actually got tired of all the red herriings. And in the end, Jaine finds the solution through a moment of insight/intuition, not b/c she's run all the clues down. Some funny stuff, but Jennifer Cruisie Levine is not.

At first I thought it was pretty childishly written. I kept reading on, however, and ended up liking it. Jaine is a funny character, and the mystery was interesting enough to keep me wondering what was going to happen next.

An incredibly fast read--very fun (and funny). It reminded me a little of the wonderful "Dating Dead Men," by Harley Jane Kozak. I hope the sequels stand up to this beginning.

This was a fantastically funny new entry in the the chick-lit/mystery series that have been popping up like gangbusters. A quick read with lots of laughs.

A good lazy-afternoon/bubble bath read. Jaine gets a little repetitive in her character traits, but overall a good, lighthearted read.

A short and sweet mystery that I'd rank as a highly amusing read. Jaine Austen is a witty character that speaks to the every-woman.

this is a mystery series where Jane Austen is the detective. Extremely well written, almost like she wrote the book herself.

It was okay and entertaining, but there are better chick-lit-mystery-series out there (Stephanie Plum fpr example!).

This was just too cute for me. I did really like that cat's name, Prozac.
