Godwin and John have had another fight and this time Godwin is not going to be allowed to return. John has found another lover (much younger) and then he is also killed. In this one, things get very personal. Goodwin, Besty's manager and friend is accused of murdering his lover of many years, John. Things don't look good but Besty with the help of the gang at Crewel world gets to the truth. I liked this one quite a bit because instead of being someone from a friend's family, the tragedy hits close to home, like in the debut novel of this series. Pretty good.

I've been reading this set of mysteries as I come across them. I knew who all the principals were, but even if I hadn't read any of the prior books the author gives enough back story (but not too much) so that the reader wouldn't be completely lost. About on par with the rest of the series, a light, cozy mystery backed with lots of cross-stitch store trivia.

"A bad mystery held together by commercials for brands of needlework supplies and foods."
