Algunas ideas a destacar:

No matter how hard I tried, I could not finish this book. The vulgar tone of the author and his constant description of cocaine intake make it hard to absorb any marketing industry facts. I find it strange and sad that people would look up to the author like Beigbeder for advertising/marketing insights and are willing to absorb any bs that this author will spoon feed them. Furthermore, I do not understand why would I use this person as an industry reference when the only thing I know, it that hi ...more

Bof.

It's not Dostoevsky, but I like French literature and particularly Beigbeder. His books seem to be the revues of our contemporary life with its ilnesses, contradictions, hysteria - explosions inside and outside the person.

Crazy and ingenious . This story tells us how powerless we are in the hands of media sharks , if we spend most of our time watching the box .
Author described very well of our modern world .
As famous Aristotle once said that -"a human is a society animal," he was definitely right .
The author tells via protagonist how miserable our society made by commercial producers or any other masters of PR . They make our choices ,likes and dislikes , they tell you what car to buy , they show you how to dre

Deliciously cynical...I doubt there is another way to describe Frederic`s style more accurately...Enjoyed every page of the book and would recommend it to anyone. Quite an easy read as well.

He is annoying, frustrating, provocative and sometimes disgusting, but many of his ideas are unfortunately true. We all have price, all our choices are controlled, advertisement world is f**ked up, we get it. But gosh, over 200 pages of self-centered love, describing how cool am I, and how I hate the world I literally live in every day - it is too much. And towards the end it makes very little sense, though you may try to fish out some very meaningful insights.

Zgrabi priliku i uživaj dok ide.

Bez da ulazim u lik i delo Begbedea ( jedna knjiga nije dovoljna). Daću šansu Francuskom romanu da mu

I have tried at other French books, but most french literature is way over intellectualized and thus falls short of actually being intellectual. 99F is intellectualized, but in this sleazy modern way. It is about a guy who is riding high on the horse as an advertising executive and has pretty much everything anyone could want in our modern society, and this ultimately throws him into despair. A poetic and cynical look at modern consumerism. People in France generally either hate this guy and his ...more

I have somewhat mixed feelings about this book. Firstly I find it hard to see where the original French version might have featured, if at all? The characters really irritated me, and at times I just wondered what the hell the whole point of reading some jumped up wanker whittering on about how great he thinks he is! I mean come on!
Some interesting things did come to light though, such as the tyre that will never puncture, and Coca Cola etc, but on the whole, this just didn’t really float my boa

Vooolim Beigbedera, jaaaako ga vooolim! Pa će ovo biti jedan vrlo subjektivni doživljaj knjige.. ;) Ovaj se puta "obračunava" sa reklamnim agencijama, budući da je i sam bio zaposlenik jedne (koja se svim silama trudila spriječiti objavljivanje ove knjige, srećom, bez uspjeha. Naravno, kao i obično usput se bavi i muško ženskim odnosima. Uz njegove knjige obavezno imam i olovku za citate, pa evo ih nekoliko da vidite kako to u stvari zvuči;

You can buy everything even be, especially me. I love not only book, also that film was great. It is impossible to add something to this book, everybody will find there something special. Here in Russia many people compare this book with Generation P by V. Pilevin. They both about advertisment influence to nation, but Beigbeder was more romantic, and Peleven more down to earth. Beigbeder told + love story, Pelevin told former soviet union + story. So no need to compare.

“Love hasn't got anything to do with the heart, the heart's a disgusting organ, a sort of pump full of blood. Love is primarily concerned with the lungs. People shouldn't say "she's broken my heart" but "she's stifled my lungs." Lungs are the most romantic organs: lovers and artists always contract tuberculosis. It's not a coincidence that Chekhov, Kafka, D.H. Lawrence, Chopin, George Orwell and St Thérèse of Lisieux all died of it; as for Camus, Moravia, Boudard and Katherine Mansfield, would they have written the same books if it werent for TB?” 39 likes
