Not much really happened in this book. We did find out at the very end who killed the man in the B&B, but that's about it. Otherwise it felt like no big revelations in the book, just setting stuff up for the next one... like Cecilia's pregnant again and Roy is getting mysterious messages. Very little of Charlotte in this one. So far, this book was the least interesting of the series. Everything was familiar, it just moved so slowly and felt like nothing really was happening. The bachelor auc...more
My mother-in-law gave me a couple of bags of books, and this was one of them. It's not really something I would have picked for myself (I don't normally read a lot of romance novels), but if someone gives me a book, I'm going to read it.
When I realized it was part of a series, I was concerned that I would be lost, but the author seemed to include enough back-story to mostly understand what was going on.

"44 Cranberry Point", the fourth book in Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove series, focuses mainly on solving the mystery of the man who died while staying at Bob and Peggy Beldon's Bed and Breakfast. Cedar Cove in general is excited about a "dog and bachelor" auction fundraiser, but several of the residents also have other things on their mind. Jon Bowman and Maryellen Sherman are in love and have a child, but disagree about Jon's relationship with his parents. Grace Sherman is still dealing with the...more

Again I really liked the relax feeling of Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove series. I listened to this book during Dewey's read-a-thon and it was a nice break for the other books I was reading. I still think 204 Rosewood Lane has been my favorite Cedar Cove books so far, but this one was very interesting.

I started the fifth last night because it was convenient and I didn't want to wake dear husband. Why does Macomber rehash what happened in previous books so thoroughly? She even has an updated cast of characters at the beginning of each book. She is enchanted with her characters; me, not so much. This one did bring some closure to the Bob Beldon and the Colonel, the other surviving soldier from the tragedy in the jungle years ago in Viet Nam. I really question that there were only four. I am mar...more
it seems like everyone in this town gets pregnant so easily! i'm surprised olivia or grace did not get pregnant as well.
also in the past books it's the same pattern -- date, get pregnant, break up, have the baby and reconcile and get married. nothing wrong with that but it is getting predictable.
the main characters are still enjoyable to read and keep up with. the new character hannah, was a little frustrating to read, as she was portrayed as being so timid and scared.

44 Cranberry Point is where Peggy and Bob Beldon live. They have a bed and breakfast called Thyme and Tide. They had a gentleman appear on a stormy night to spend the night in one of the rooms. Bob felt he seemed familiar but gave no further thought to it. The man said he would have information filled out by morning for Peggy. The next morning when the man did not get out of bed or leave his room, the Beldon unlocked the door and found him dead. A mystery ensued as to who this man was and why he...more

44 Cranberry Point is the fourth novel in the Cedar Cove series by Debbie Macomber. Olivia and Grace and all our favourite locals in Cedar Cove make an appearance. Olivia returns from her honeymoon with Jack and tries to adjust to married life. Grace goes all out to win back Cliff Harding after having lost his trust. Maryellen and Jon tie the knot, and there’s another surprise wedding….. The mystery of the man who died at the Thyme and Tide B&B is finally solved, but another mystery, this ti...more
44 Cranberry Point is the 4th book of the Cedar Cove series by Debbie Macomber. Cedar Cove is a fictional small town in the Northwest US. Each book of the series brings us a continuing saga of the relationships between the families who live there, stories of conflict and resolution.

Once again I've enjoyed this series as it continues. This book is about Peggy and Bob Beldon who live @ 44 Cranberry Point. In the previous book we were left kind of hanging about who may of killed the man that died in the Beldon's bed and breakfast. In this book they finally revealed who the killer was, and it was kind of a shock to be honest. Other then that, you learn more and more about the citizens in Cedar Cove and their day to day issues and such. We see how Olivia and Jack are trying to...more
I don't know why I keep reading this series, probably because every book leaves you hanging so I have to keep reading the next to find out what happens.
Nothing really happened in this book and it focused on most of the characters that I don't really like.
It seems like the people in this town are oblivious to everything and everybody around them, until something is spelled out for them. And every married character wants to end their marriage as soon as they have a fight with their spouse.

This address is for the Thyme and Tide B&B belonging to Peggy and Bob Beldon. One of his ex Vietnam vet buddies died in their B&B and it appeared to be murder. He had not recognized him because of the plastic surgery he had from being burned in a fire. Now, the police believe Bob may be in danger and suggest that he and Peggy leave town until it clears up. Not happy with that suggestion, Bob and Peggy agree to close the B&B until the murderer is caught or the authorities believe them...more
I liked most of the characters> i really liked rachel, and bob and peggy and the mccafees. the story was good but did not love the main story. I could tell halfway throigh the book that hannah was guilty and wanted to shake peggy for not recogzing it. The fact that she was abused did not justify her kinning her dad.I wanted to like hannah but couldn't. I kept saying if it is her it is so obvious. I am looking forward to reading roys story though and rachels as well.
While I like this series, sometimes there seems to be a little too much repetition of information found in prior books. Most series I read do end up doing that to give a little background if you haven't read the prior books but this particular one seemed to have a little too much and I felt like I was partially reading a slightly different version of the same book over again. Still a good book, catching up with story lines that were left off in previous books.

A continuing story of the families who live in Cedar Cove, Washington. As I mentioned in the review of the prior book in this series, there is more mystery in this series than in others. In this book, one mystery was finally resolved but another one was developing as the book ended -- making it ripe for the next book in the series, of course. The mystery was dealt with in a very intriguing and interesting way. I began to have my suspicions about the outcome a few chapters before it ended and it...more

Wonderful 4 book of Cedar Cove,so happy finally Grace-Cliff moved ahead and started afresh, loving Jack-Olivia's fights,Cecelia-Ian really happy they are on their way to finding happpiness,Jon-Maryellen really sad for them they lost their baby and again they are back to where they started Maryellen once again went behind Jon's back and now Jon is angry and again his trust is shaken

This book was so much better than the first three - the women are not nearly as whiny or making bad decisions. Everyone is settling into their own and we expand upon the storylines that were developed and set-up in the first few books.
I'm glad to see the men getting their own storylines. And we had one mystery solved only to have another begin. It keeps you interested in the character's lives and hooks you for the next book in the series.

It seems like there is never a dull moment in Cedar Cove. This installment is a little more exciting than some, since it has a mysterious death – murder? – in it. But there is still the requisite amount of sappy romance included in the story for those readers who like that sort of thing. However, much of the book involves the ongoing complicated relationships of the characters, and these story threads hold much of this series’ appeal.
The soap opera continues... Cecilia and Ian diagree about a new baby - Cecilia refuses to do anything to prevent geetting pregnant and Ian (navy guy) tries to stay his distance... unsuccessfully. She gets pregnant, and he loves her and works hard to accept it and deal with his fears. Grace finds gumption to tell Will off when he shows up and to fight for Cliff, who finally starts to respond. Central to the plot is the dog and bachelor auction... Charlotte (the matriarch) marries Ben (after Will...more
This is the 4th book in the Cedar Cove series and I think it's the best so far. Macomber has added mystery, romance and family issues that are not always "feel good" but definitely pique your desire to keep reading. She has several stories going at a time so there is no time to get bored with the story line. This is definitely "chic lit" but it is done pretty well. There is nothing in her writing that would be offensive to the reader so any age would enjoy the book, however it most likely would...more
Very good read!! I don't know why I didn't read them before but I'm going in order now. It's easier to keep people straight reading them this way, at least it is for my memory. :)
The author does explain some past stuff so you can get a background on each person. Cedar Cove is an excellent series but so are all of the other Debbie Macomber books I've read. Never a bad read!

This book read very quickly, but was not nearly as good as the previous two. The whole Vietnam issue is (finally) put to rest, and the two newlywed couples are having a few issues settling in. That's... really it. The whole Cliff/Grace situation just has me agitated. There were no characters in this book that I really latched on to. There wasn't enough of Cecilia and Ian, and there was too much of Roy and Corrie. Hopefully the next book will be better?
Another great Cedar Cove read !! Book #4 wasn't as action packed as the previous three, but I was relieved to find out what happened to Max Russell, finally! By reading book #4 I can tell lots of exciting things are in store for the next books in the series! FYI: I wanted to slug Jon Bowman in the noggin'.. As Maryellen said, he needs to change his attitude! I'm glad he started coming around towards the end of the book, though! :)
Once again another good book from this author. I love the way this series is written like a soap opera. The author brings you up to date with the events in the characters lives and also introduces new characters to you. She also leaves a bit of a cliff hanger at the end leaving you wanting more. So you just have to read the follow book. I'm looking forward to the next book already.
