Pretty typical Macomber - enjoyable and easy to read. However this book had so many different characters and story lines that didn't intersect that it was hard to keep track of who was related to who and what was going on with each one. At times it was such a jumble I almost gave up as I was so confused. But I hung in till the end and that is exactly what I got. The End. The book ended with several of the story lines up in the air, but I won't tell you which ones. I'm sure that means there

Debbie Macomber has created such a rich and engaging town in her Cedar Cove series. 74 Seaside Avenue is the seventh book in the series and it lives up to the high expectations delivered by the previous installments. This is a series that really must be read in order. Story lines arc from one book to the next. Characters keep reappearing to update you on what has happened since their book. And new characters that will eventually have their own story make their introductions.

In Debbie Macomber's 74 Seaside Avenue, you get a little bit of mystery from Teri and Bobby Polgar. Bobby is a chess champion who is being threatened by a Russian player. A lot of this story revolves around how he tries to protect his wife, but there's more lives entwined in this novel. You have Teri's friend Rachel who is trying to decide which man she loves. Olivia who is about to get a life changing diagnosis and her husband Jack. Grace and her husband Cliff who are dealing with a return of s

Another Cedar Cove novel, written in Debbie Macomber's usual form. I am a fan of the series, so I loved the book. There are a few surprises in this one and it's going to be a long wait until August 2008 for 8 Sandpiper Way and Debbie's contract goes through sequel 9, so we have at least two more years to enjoy Cedar Cove and all of the residents we have become close to.

I always enjoy the Cedar Cover Series by Ms. Macomber...they are an easy enjoyable read...you don't necessarily have to start at book number 1 to enjoy the book, but I would recommed starting at 1 if you think you are going to read them. This was just the easy read that I needed after all the Harry Potter books (all 7 in a row) followed by His Dark Materials Trilogy.

I may have rated this higher if I had realized this was book 7 in a series. As it was, I wasn't invested in any of the characters, and I found it to be a soap opera read like Cass's review.

I got a third through this book and had no idea what was going on. There were way too many characters and no plot. I had to stop reading it because it was driving me crazy.

It's an almost too perfect life in Cedar Cove and sometimes too close to sappy but I sure do like this series. It's fun to sneak a peek into other families.

This was a quick and easy read, but I didn't find it all that enjoyable. I know it's part of a series, I think it's like the 8th or something, but I've never read any of the other books. I'm hoping this explains the complete lack of connection I felt with any of the characters. It jumps from couple to couple in small town in Washington state and I really only cared about maybe two of the story lines. Since it's in a series, it also left a lot of loose ends that I'm sure will be tied up in su

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would through the first half of the book, but I have read Debbie Macomber books before, so I stayed with it, and the last 1/3 was worth the read. But I learned a very valuable lesson: even though books in some series are written as 'stand-alones', picking up one in the middle of the series is like coming into a movie in the middle; by the time you get to the end, you've figured things out, but you're aware you missed so much more.

My husband saw this book at the library and thought I'd like it so he grabbed it for me. Neither of us knew this was #7 in series until I came to rate it on Goodreads. I was going to say that for such an easy read, there were too many characters for me to keep their backstories straight so I was rating it a 2. Finding out that it's so far in a series explains why and if I'd read all the previous books, I would have been able to keep it straight and I would have given it 3 stars. But I really

Teri & Bobbi... happily married... he's traveling, playing chess...until one day two Soprano type men take Teri to their van. And Bobbi is threatened by the russian chess champ... lose the match, or lose your wife. they have a nice scene when she comes home to him - the first time he's in the house she bought and decorated for them... and she's worked hard making him the perfect dinner... and he's sitting in front of the chess board, working out games in his mind... and she lovingly kisses

I liked this book more than the last, which in this series, is saying something. Linette Cox flees Cedar Cove due to a broken heart and ends up in Buffalo Valley, North Dakota. (Buffalo Valley is another, older series by the same author and familiar faces from that series show up in Buffalo Valley.) Loved Teri and Bobby Polgar's story, kidnapping, chess match, etc. Happy Rachel finally made her choice as that was getting tiring.

Now at 74 Seaside Avenue lives Teri and Bobby Polgar. Teri works as a hair and nail tech at Get Nailed Salon. She recently married Bobby Polgar, a chess champion, after a whirlwind romance. Bobby doesn't drive so he has James, his chauffeur, take him and his wife everywhere. Only Bobby is worried about something right now and hasn't told Teri what it is. Teri found out recently too that she is pregnant. The couple are elated.

I picked up a couple of Debbie Macomber's novels at a thrift store. They are light romances and fun to read but I wouldn't give any of the ones I have read over a 3 rating. I like the fact that they are set in small towns and you get to know the townspeople as she develops their characters. The book is a little sappy, and predictable but I like the fact that her characters are flawed, yet trying to be the best that they can be and they love their families.

74 Seaside Avenue deals with the threat against Teri's life being taken care of by her husband Bobby. Linette has left Cedar Cove and is dabbling in a little romance. The big news is that Olivia has cancer. I finished this book less than two days ago and that is all that I can really remember so these books are not really a memorable series but they are decent to fill the time.

74 Seaside Avenue
I enjoyed this book. Being from the northwest, it is fun to see how other people perceive our area. As I read the author's descriptions of the fictional town, I could see our little town of Port Orchard peaking through the pages.

Boring! Disconnected! Still trying to figure out who was who! Ha, ha, I just read reviews from other people and no wonder I couldn't figure out the characters, etc. It's #7 in a series and characters are woven in and out throughout each book. I still would only give it 2 stars because it's like a gossipy soap opera!

More of the same in this series. My only criticism in the last book was that the one character was a bit unbelievable as compared to most of the other characters. By the end of this book, he was no more believable, but I began to really like him and enjoy the story that surrounded him, his wife and his driver.

The whole series of Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove books are great character studies. Each is a complete novel and the series can be read in any order without confusion. However, when you do read them in order, you see how each of the many "main" characters grows and matures thru all the twists and turns of life. Easy reading and very absorbing.

This was mediocre. I was disappointed because the main story was the Bobby and Teri Polgar one. They are darling and interesting characters; unfortunately it didn't show in this book. I am reading these because I bought them for the Kindle for my mother who loves them.

Typical for the series. I liked learning more about Teri and Bobby. I felt this one was even more sappy than some of the others. I do have to take a break between each of these books because they are so simmilar, but I really enjoy them. As always, a quick, feel good read.

Couldnt get through it. Picked up an audio book for a drive to Tahoe. Actually lasted 2 disks and still don't know why anyone would read or listen to this book. No depth to the characters and if it was going to have a plot, I didn't last long enough to find out.

Oh I am so mad at Cal how could he and what was he really thinking. I was so consumed by his story with Linette. I wanted to cry with her during her part in the book. I found myself wanting to cry with Olivia as well. I can't wait to read more and see what happens

A nice predictable read at a harried time of year. Catching up on the missed stories in this series. Had to wonder if I really did read it along the way; Debbie always fills in the stories of past books and it felt like I had read it.

This is the 7th book in the Cedar Cove series. We visit Terri in this book who is newly married. There is tension between her and her sister, but she wants to make good with her. After years of neglect, she hopes that this can happen.

Another enjoyable read about the people in Cedar Cove. Debbie Macomber makes her characters come to life ... can't wait to read the next one. I have read the first 6 of the series and loved each one of them.

Love this series, but I have to admit being overwhelmed by the amount of story lines. I like the characters, but it almost seems like you get to little of too many people.

I really did not like this one very much. Out of the first 7 books in this series, this one is my least favorite. There was too many things depressing in this book. I mean, there were some happy things, but I think the depressing things made it too depressing.
