Another great addition to the series! Two new, obnoxious characters were added during this book. Anson Butler and David Rhodes. I wanted to ring Anson's neck and ask Allison Cox what in the world her hang up on this bad boy was/is. He's nothing but bad news!! David Rhodes needed a huge dose of common sense knocked into his noggin. Blah! I sure hope they are able to find this Anson character in regards to The Lighthouse arson. Anson / Arson.. What's the difference? Here's to hoping David Rhodes m...more
I liked the book, it's entertaining and fast paced.
I have one very shallow complaint. I request that Macomber no longer describe what people are wearing. I find the clothing choices to be huge character turn-offs. When a young and pretty Linnette dons a vest with sequined Christmas trees on it for a hot date I physically cringe.
When a grown woman in her 50's tries on several outfits and decides on a ""blue denim jumper with big yellow daisies painted on the bib and a yellow turtleneck underneath...more

There’s never a dull moment in Cedar Cove. Grace is trying to win Cliff back after her crush on best friend’s brother ends their relationship. Linnette moves home only to have her mom fix her up with Cal, a man she is definitely NOT attracted to. Olivia and Jack settle into their new marriage until an emergency causes them to really think about their feelings for each other. Finally, the reader learns the truth behind those mysterious notes Corrie and her husband Roy have been receiving.

Although I enjoy Debbie Macomber’s story-telling talents, this installment in the Cedar Cove saga is just too much like a soap opera for my tastes. Exceedingly sappy, parts of it make me roll my eyes. Though the talented reader of this audio version is quite capable of altering her inflection to voice the different characters, some of them sound like caricatures of voices, if there is such a thing. If you have been following the novels in this series, you will want to continue with this one, but...more

mainly around Corrie & Roy, whose daughter Linette moves into town to become the clinic's physcian assistant. She has her site set on another doctor, and almost looses Cal (a stutterer, and horse ranch worker - who does not stutter around horses or when making love), a viril, kind, man. She catches on just in time. Matt, the son, is introduced. He and Roy are estranged because he always went his own way (played soccer instead of football kind of conflicts)... they...more

The current situation and some other things were good there is getting to be too much repeating what happened in the previous books for my taste, I REALLY HATE that, I feel as a reader who picked up the books from the beginning I am being vomited on with info from previous books. Case in point, practically half of chapters two, three, and four are rehashing of books one through four. I noticed in book four there was a leaning towards a 'filling in' but was hoping it wasn't going to happen but al...more
After so many books in this series, I have really begun to like these characters. The author makes you feel like they are your old friends. In this installment, the mystery from the preceding book was revealed and a new one was left dangling. My only criticism of this author is that there seems to be small inconsistencies in the stories from one book to the next. They aren't things that really alter the overall book or even things that really matter all that much, but they are noticeable. I woul...more

This book is a part of the Cedar Cove series set in the state of Washington. It features Corrie McAfee and her private investigator husband Roy who have been receiving messages asking if they regret what they did in the past. Cedar Cove is a small town featuring some warmly drawn characters that support each other emotionally. The book ends with a cliffhanger that will take you to the next book. It was an enjoyable read.

Macomber's Cedar Cove novels are like comfort food. I do read many other authors, but I always come back to her whenever I need a pickup. 50 Harbor Street is no different- and I think I've finally got all the residents down- just in time too, since Macomber keeps adding new ones. Usually, she ends the books at a good place that feels like a pause- but not here. I feel like I want to jump right into the next one to see what happens next.
I'm not sure why I'm continuing to read this books. While I still love the community concept and learning about the lives. But they aren't doing much for me. It isn't because there isn't any sex in it. It's because these are a bit too close to real life and I'm just not as interested in these types of books anymore.
This was a great book, but the cliff hanger from 44 Cranberry Point was pretty easy to figure out early on in this book.
As far as the cliff hanger at the end of this on . . . I'm pretty sure I know the who dunnit. It's going to be interesting to see how the characters get to the right person though in the next book.
I really enjoy this series. There are several characters that drive me CRAZY (like Rachael & Lynette), but overall the cast of characters are great.

This story centers on a mystery involving the town's private investigator--he's getting strange messages and gifts. And there are a few romances going on among other people in town. This book (5th in the series) was not as good as the later one I just finished, and was a little more explicit in content. Not needed. B-. May 23.
I love all of Debbie Macomber's books. I love the town, the characters, the romances, the clean language, and the mysteries. I am addicted to the Cedar Cove series and highly recommend it to anyone who likes romance, mystery, and a clean read. I also like that there is conflict but things usually turn out well.
lots of things going on: pregnancies (the whole town seems to be always preganant!), romance, mystery, family reuntion.. just a typical day at cedar cove.
you really have to read this continuously as the books start where they left off from the last book and end in a cliffhanger.
i enjoyed it and it was a nice book -- cozy and warm.

In 50 Harbor Street, we get to look into the lives of Cedar Cove's private investigator and his family as well as visit with old friends and meet new ones. Will Grace and Cliff finally get married or call it quits forever?
Along with the previous books in this series, I have enjoyed it and learning what happened with all this characters. Debbie Macomber knows exactly how to leave you satisfied with the stories, yet still keep you at suspence with what will happen next.

I suppose if I were reading these as they came out, all of the re-hashing the previously told stories for all of the charcaters would be helpful. However, reading them in succession, I feel like I'm getting cheated out of a quarter of a book worth of new material. I think the character descriptions would be sufficient. Anyway... already started on the next one.
The spiral continues. Enjoyable continuation of this series which ends on a bit of a cliff-hanger - and this time only one book arrived in the spiral, so I'll have to wait longer to continue! Not to gloat, but I did guess about Gloria pretty early on. No idea about the Anson story and where that will lead though...
My mother-in-law loaned me this book a while back and I finally got around to reading it. This is the first "real" book I have read in a while since getting my Samsung Galaxy tablet last year in May as an early birthday present. I mostly read during my half hour lunch, and a little bit less before bed and sometimes on the weekend, but not as much as you think since the computer sucks my time on weekends.
