recommends it for:
fantasy freaks and fairy fans, plus their kids!
A wonderful edition of some wonderful writing. This version is one of my most prized books as it contains Carroll's original sketchings and several other versions of not just Alice but also his poetry, math problems, and his two novels about the fairy children, Bruno and Sylvie.

This has turned into one of my, "at home" books; I dare you to take it into public. It's like bound spontaneous laughter.
"Well, now that we have seen each other," said the Unicorn, "if you'll believe in me, I'll believe in you. Is that a bargain?"

As a collection of Lewis Carroll's works, you get the good with the bad. Fortunately, there is much more good than bad. The Alice stories are brilliant, but if you can make it through Sylvie and Bruno you're a stronger man that I am.

I rediscovered this book when I was "asked" to clear out some boxes at my parents' house. As a kid, some of Carroll's poems scared the crap out of me, so I'm excited to read them again.

In the back of this book Carroll has a chapter of Math Problems... They fascinate me -- all the crazy number jibberish. Every now and then I need a dose of Alice.
