It is not a peaceful read experience on tropical islands, this is an overheat fantasy adventure series.

This series is an unexpected gem on my fantasy read. It has fresh setting after I have read/heard/played so many Medieval European based fantasy.

Fresh setting: in a fictitious world where Polynesia and Britain islands are adjacent.
Obviously, the strong point of this series is the Polynesian. The author emphasizes the Polynesia culture and mythology.

This is a fantasy set among the Polynesian islanders who travel in handmade rafts across the Pacific Ocean.

Kilworth has looked carefully at how they make tools and war clubs without metalwork - by studding a club with sharks' teeth, say - and at the values and beliefs of the cultures they encounter.
