Not a bad book, but the "Cult of Mary" as I like to call it, leaves alot to be desired in the scheme of understanding religion. I believe that there are better examples of the religious evolution than this subject matter. The book is well written and makes a very poignant case.

Really interesting book about the 'cult' of the Virgin Mary. It's about the impact of religion on societies over time, with particular focus on gender relationships. Thought provoking, but tough to read.
