As one case closes another one opens. Janie Hannagan returns, this time using her abilities of being swept into a person's dreams to solve a sex scandal at her school.
Several calls have been made on Fieldridge High School's anonymous phone line. Although inaudible at times, the messages result in the assumption that certain faculty members and students at Fieldridge have been fooling around. So Captain and he...more

You should read WAKE before you pick up FADE. You’ll understand the story much better.
My review may be a little vague, but I don’t want to give away any SPOILERS for WAKE.
Janie still has a difficult life. Her mother still drinks and hides in her bedroom to the extent that she doesn’t have any interest in what Janie does. Janie is the adult in house - making sure there are groceries in the house and taking care of the other day to day household chores.

Fade, (the sequel to Wake) is absolutely fabulous! I recommend it to everyone who likes a bit of a strange but engrossing story with a twist of love. I love Lisa almost as much as I love Cable, but in a different way.
**Update**
"Fade" always has and always will deserve five stars. Not four, as I once rated it. The four-star rating was a fluke. An embarrassing accident, one might say. An error in judgment, if you will. An attempt by perfidious websites to decrease the value of a noble book.
In other words, it deserves five stars.
