In print for nearly two decades, The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need truly stands up to its title. However, should you plan to make a career as an astrologer you will, of course, need further study. Beginning with the Sun signs and moving on through the remaining planets, as well as more obscure influences such as the Ascendant, Moon signs, Decanates and Cusps of each sign, the book is well thought out and the information presented in a logical and orderly manner In addition the author expl...more
The title of this book could not be truer! I had the original purple first edition when I was only a teenager in high school, casting birth charts for all of my friends who thought this was so cool. I didn't even realize until many years later just how much more I knew about astrology than the average person, as result of reading this book.
In 2003 I moved into an apartment and in 2004 I moved out. At some point in all that ruckus I lost my book. This book is so useful, so valuable, a...more

This is a really great book if you're wanting to get beyond the basic checking-your-weekly-horoscope-in-the-newspaper-astrology. Not that there's anything wrong with that kind, but if you're wanting to know about birth charts, love affinity, the placement of your other planets (Moon Sign, Venus Sign, etc) and Rising/Ascendant Sign, this is a great choice. It's fun and interesting to read, very clear and easily understood, and boy do I regret not picking up that copy I saw at the flea market (I o...more
The first book I found that quickly allows the reader to see the planet's positions on the day of birth. The geometry of our solar system on that day is shown clearly enough, and can be jotted down in mere minutes. Once the physics of that first moment are in hand, the curious can decide what Jung, or symbolism or mythology or anything else have to do with it~!
Concise and unpretentious... and groundbreaking when I found it. Thanks, Ms. Woolfolk for making an ancient science avail...more

When I started studying astrology, this was the first book I read. Very comprehensive but simply written and great for beginners who are just figuring out what sign their moon is in. The charts in the book are not always going to be the best indicator for planetary placements, so it's best to go to a site such as astro.com or astrology.com to get your natal chart. Then you can use the book to help you figure what all those planets mean.
I am a huge astrology nut, and this book is exactly as it says in the title. The only astrology book you will EVER need. It's easy to understand the information, and doesn't use words only Astrologists would know. I recommend this to anyone who has any interest in astrology.
My copy also came with a CD for the computer to see your birth chart to give you even more of an understanding of the planets in your sign. It's great.

This book is AMAZING! I use it as a reference ALL THE TIME! I wish it came in pocket size (lol!)
As an wanna be astrologer I find this information to be incredibly helpful and most importantly incredibly accurate. It has helped me better understand the basics of astrology and I'm not able to put together basic birth charts for friends and family with ease.

I love it, I never knew that my characteristics has to do with my Zodiac sign. Gives you complete details, and what you like, your relationships (which i never believed until i put my Zodiac sign with my boyfriends, and it describes it perfectly)
I remember reading this book a loooong time ago and this was the first astrology book that nailed me straight on. I love it and would recommend it to anyone who thinks astrology is bull. This will change your mind.
This is a very comprehensive basic astrology book. It includes scientific and mythological information as well as beautiful visuals. It demystifies the process of understanding people from this perspective.
This did break down astrology into an easier practice for the novice (and that is ME to the core). Illustrates how to create the astrology houses, how to find your rising sign, etc... Well worth it to me.
This book was great for me mostly because it was my first book on astrology. Its a great primer and the CD that it comes with is a lifesaver. Great for anyone who is a beginner in astrology.
Like it says on the cover - but like it says on the inside, this one makes it so it's not the only astrology book you'll ever WANT. A must for first time dabblers into the subject
I will re-read this book once I have the CD to go with it. It was very very wonderful, so far. Finally an astrology book that explains everything in a way that I can understand it!
I know, I know...it's not exactly classic literature, but it's kind of fun to see how accurate this book really is! Good choice for people who get into fortune-telling & zodiacs.
I have had this book for awhile and I'm thinking about getting the latest edition. I'd like to try the software that comes with it this time. Great reference to have.
I bought this book before the CD Rom. It is complete but, boy oh boy, do you need some patience to calculate all the houses....
Great reference book to learn more about your astrological sigh as well as uncovering & learning more about those around you.
So excellent. Really the only astrology book you would ever need (unless you're me, who can't just stop at one book).
one of my most favorite astrology books of all time, I read it in 9 hours and at the end knew how to cast a chart.
This book is amazing if you're into astrology. It has very detailed and accurate information. I love this book.
As far as astrology goes, this book is perfect for beginners. I still use it as a guide for other personalities.
Comes with software to do a complete chart. The charts include page numbers for explanations of each planet and aspect.
I read it cover to cover... and even replaced it once after lending it someone who did not return it.
Very comprehensive. Perhaps a bit too much. But you'll learn how to read a chart.
Not the only astrology book I need, but definitely one of the best I own!I love it!
This book has everything you need to read your own and your friends birth charts.
Is may well be the only book you need, presuming you just want a basic primer. I use mine a lot for basic research. For a regular schmoe who does not know anything about the real science of astrology, it could be quite useful. Does a decent job of explaining things in layman's terms.
The depth that went into writing this book is phenomenal. It covers basically everything you could ever want to know. From Sun Signs to Moon Signs, to All other aspects of a birth chart. If you're seriously interested, this is the best book to start out with. Also, the "History in Astrology" at the back of the book was fascinating. Astrology has been documented as far back as 30,000 years and only during the time of St. Augustine was it considered a sin to consult astrology. I frequent...more
