Maybe I am a little biased since I wrote my thesis on this book. The English translation is pretty shitty. If you read Spanish, I HIGHLY recommend the original. It is a wonderful adventure story, both deep and hilarious.
It's written in every tense, interchangeably. If this doesn't sound absolutely annoying to you, it is very rewarding. Comparable to Don Quixote. For serious.

Algunos capítulos de esta novela irregular, tal vez fallida, valen por diez novelas regulares.
