Although my 3 star review may make it seem like I did not enjoy this book, that is definitely not the case. I loved a
Every bit of this book. The 3 star review reflects my desire for certain improvements in the book which would make it unbearable. First, the organization is abysmal, mainly because it is almost impossible to detect any organization theme. It's not chronological, geographical, or topical. Second, a bit of background info for the essays is critical. Many of the pieces were either wr

This book is beautiful and does a great job of examining many of the greats in baseball history and assigning some type of order too them. SI makes no attempt to offer irrefutable evidence as to why this one ranks 4th and this other one 9th which is great fun because it let's us argue about if it's right or wrong and why isn't this in there. This is a great coffee table book as people have said and is lots of fun to read.

Has to be seen to be believed. SI has gathered the best photos from their illustrious history to create the ultimate gallery of legends for baseball fans.

Aerial photos, 'how did they get so close' shots, and historical moments all seem larger than life in this sizable book.

If you love the game, this book will get you closer to the action than dugout seats!

Fabulous photos accompanied by excerpts from Sports Illustrated articles. What I liked most about this book is that it breaks down baseball by each decade, and names an all-star team for each ten year period. It also compiles an all-time all-star team. I'd rather see Roberto Clemente on this team than Alex Rodriguez, but it's pretty solid, otherwise.

A coffee table baseball book with some top-notch photography from SI. Includes articles from some of the game's best sportswriters. The problem, and the reason I could only give this 2 stars, is that the articles and essays are abbreviated. Had they chosen to include these in their entirety, I would have given it 4 stars. Very disappointing.
