In this book, it is now the third year the sisters have had the pants. Except this time, they are all in college in different places. In this book Carmen's mom is having a baby, and Tibby ends up having to do something very Special for her. Also in the book Carmen finally meets her special someone. Who she laughs and hangs with most of the summer, but is she pushing him away by constantly talking about her friends, and canceling dates to hang with them instead? Also in this book, Lena becomes de...more

Oh kemana perginya kisa...more

So frustrating!!!! I had some issues with Book #2, but really wanted to see what happened next, so I moved on to Book #3. I seriously want to slap everybody in this book. Brashares doesn't seem to realize that in order for characters to mature, they should (hopefully) learn from their mistakes and their experiences. No one has progressed one whit. Carmen is still terribly upset when anybody has something going on in her life that doesn't revolve around her, and proceeds to act like a very s...more

Girls in Pants, the third summer of the sisterhood was written by Ann Brashares. In this book Tibby, Lena, Carmen and Bridget are graduating from highschool. They are figuring out where they want to go in life and this is the last real summer that they will all be together. Lena wants to go to art school, Tibby wants to go to film school, bridget is going to Brown and Carmen is going to acting school. This summer, they will overcome many unexpected events that only the magic pants can help them ...more

Read on the plane ride home from Palm Springs. Perfect airplane reading, except that these books always make me cry and I was snuffling over the flight attendant as he served me cranapple juice. Brashares has a real knack for hitting on universal truths while spinning out her compelling yarns. The boyfriends are perhaps too good to be true, but I'm willing to overlook that because I'm a little in love with them, too. [One quibble/question: why do so many of the last names end in -man? Is this Br...more

The third summer of the sisterhood takes place before their freshman year of college. This is an important time in their life and they are anxious for their futures. Everyone this summer is staying in Bethesda except for Bridget who attends soccer camp in Pennsylvania where she is reunited with Erik, her heartthrob from two summers ago who changed her forever. This time though after creating a friendship they pursue a relationship together. Brian and Tibby are in love, but Tibby is afraid they w...more

This is the third installment of these books. The books are for young adults but I like them. The story line is fun and interesting.
Eighteen years ago, four expecting mothers meet in an exercise class for expecting moms. They became best friends and all four delivered daughters in September. The women stayed friends for years, but slowly drifted apart. However, the four September babies, "The Septembers", stayed best friends always.
The books take place during each ...more

This book is 3 years after the first, and the sisters graduate. Tibby is the author. There is some spoilers in here, but not major ones, so please don't freak out!

Lena: Is in a dilema between going for her passion, art, or her family.

Carmen: Gets a summer job by taking care of Lena's gradma. This is much more than she expected. She also finally finds love, in the weirdest places.

Briget: Is regretting her first realationship with Eric more than ever. She meets Eric again and sta...more

How I Came To Own This Book: I apparently was into the Sisterhood series enough to flat out buy this one.

The Plot: Senior year is over and the sisterhood girls are preparing to go their separate ways - more or less for good this time. Lena is dealing with her love of art and convincing her parents of her talent lies in art, not managing a Greek restaurant. Tibby's life comes to a head when two events happen in her life - Brian's interest goes from platonic to romantic, and her younger sister...more

this is a great book about four teens. these teens go through alot of stuff. you can already tell from reading the blurb or guessing from the cover, that these teens are best friends. almost like sisters. no these pants are not what connects them together! it is more then that. its about friendship, relationships and fries experiences. Carmen, tibby, lena and bridget are all on what you would say summer vacation. lena, is going off to Greece which is part of her roots. when she goes there she me...more

The third of the sisterhood of the traveling pants books just keeps getting better. It talks about the four girls, Carmen, Lena, Bridget, and Tibby and their last summer together before they go off to collage. This summer though, the girls a each dealing with different situations that summer.
Tibby is trying to figure out whether her friend, Brian is the one fore her after she kisses him and he tell her that he likes her. Lena is taking an art class that her parents don't approve of. When her f...more

I just love these books! It is so neat (yes, I am a geek) to watch these 4 girls grow and reach and learn and even sometimes fall.

This is the last summer of their "childhood". graduation has happened and they are all counting the days (but not really) [AND second-guessing their choices:] until they leave for college. They are planning their end-of-summer bash while trying to just get through the summer. And of course, they are wearing the pants. And using the magic they hold to acc...more

The third installment of the Sisterhood Saga. Much brighter and upbeat than the previous book, the four friends have become more pro-active, accepting and willing to take the gigantic leap into adulthood.

It’s their last glorious summer together before they head off to their respective colleges and to their new lives. The world as they know it is slowly dissipating, changing continuously and extending beyond their control.

Carmen has to face her mum’s imminent pregnanc...more

Listened to this book in my car. Have to admit, this is not great literary fiction by any means but there were many times I wish my car had more driving to do so I could listen to what came next.

This is the third book in the series and the girls are still growing up... I enjoyed Carmen's transformation best of all and found myself tearing up about the arrival of her new baby brother (ok, I was pregnant at the time so I am VERY hormonal). Bea, my favorite character, was a bit subdued in this ...more

I truly enjoyed the first book of this series and so I had anticipated enjoying the others. However, this was not the case with #3.

Perhaps the difference between my age and the intended reader's age was too great, but I found the girls so horribly self absorbed and unrealistically perfect in this novel that I lost the connection I had with them in the first novel.

The format of the novel has become very predictable- Brashares has written her heroines into pretty little boxes that don't ...more

My sister said these Sisterhood novels, about friendship of four teenage girls aided by a magical pair of pants, always have this gloomy aura lurking beneath. I tend to agree with her. The word I think describes the series is 'bittersweet', because that's what life is. The four girls, Carmen, Bridget, Lena and Tibby deal with a lot during their teens, and there were always valuable lessons to learn. For them, and also for the readers.

"The lesson was: Don't open, don't climb, don't reach, and you will not fall. But it was the wrong lesson! She had learned the wrong lesson!

The real lesson... was the opposite: Try, reach, want, and you may fall. But even if you do, you might be okay anyway.

Flexing her feet under the covers, Tibby thought of a corollary to this lesson: If you don't try, you save nothing, because you might as well be dead."

I really love how Brashares gets into the heads of her characters, and you can completely understand (even though you are aggravated) why they do the things they do. She just puts it out there...I respect that. They're all completely well-defined, and different from each other. I most relate to Bridget, who doesn't beat around the bush and just tells it like it is. She lives boldly.

This book takes place in the summer before they go off to college, which I remember was a scary time (but f...more

The first time I tried to read these I thought..."My brain is melting." I must say though after another attempt for my younger step-daughters sake I liked them. There is again mature content(which seems to be the theme of many teen books), but the overall message of being there for one another no matter how different they are simply because they love one another out weighs the rest. Each of the characters faces challenges usually of their own personality's making and while sometimes...more
