Photojournalist Souza portrays the then Senator's first year of office and his meteoric rise to the Democractic candidacy. All in black and white, these photos paint a perfectly poised man, in public and private moments. His charisma is reflected on the faces of his public admirers.

This is not the type of book you read cover to cover (at least not me). But if you're into photography and politics then it's a must.

This photographer spent a *lot* time with Senator Obama, beginning with his election as a Congressman. I enjoyed the time-capsule of photos chronicling his few years since then.

The book is absolutely awesome. It's 160 pages of captivating, and profoundly touching photos. Yes, it has some text, but the pictures are what you're buying.

A great coffee table book full of fantastic photos of Barack Obama leading up to the presidential election. There's not much to read in this book besides facts associated with the photos and information on the photographer.
