I've loved Mr. Rogers since I was a little girl. I knew; even when people around me were slamming and making fun of him; that he was the real deal.
I watched his television show religiously (even as I got older; a lot older!) because for 30 minutes I was in a place where just being "me" was not only okay, it was encouraged and accepted.
To this day, he's still my "go to" guy when I need to be nurtured and comforted.

Several years ago I was driving down the freeway and saw a billboard. It was simple; an empty hanger, a pair of shoes, a phrase that read, "We'll miss you, Neighbor." Mister Rogers had just passed away, and I broke into tears. I'd always loved Mister Roger's Neighborhood as a child, and I felt like the simple billboard was such a sweet, tender goodbye.

More thoughts from Mr. Rogers's beautiful mind.
How can you go wrong with Mr. Rogers? I am not ashamed to say I have been a fan of Fred Rogers since day one. I believe that he was a remarkable man and that he profoundly touched the lives of millions of children, of which I am one. The book is a collection of some of his insights on the world and the people around us. I truly believe that he had a gift to see through the smoke and fog to get at the heart of the emotion. Like Charles Schultz and Bill Cosby, Fred Rogers had the gift, but unlike ...more
You can joke all you want about Fred Rogers, but he was a great guy! I grew to appreciate him when we lived in Pittsburgh years ago, since that was his hometown. He was very talented and did a lot of great things in his lifetime. I appreciate his wife's comments, along with Mr. Rogers' snippits of wisdom.
This collection of quotes from Mister Rogers is the ultimate feel-good read. It offers gems about accepting yourself, love, and the search for the right path. It's a great pick-me-up if you're having any doubts about yourself or the direction of your life. It would also make a great graduation present.
More quotes from Mr. Rogers, with a nice introduction by his wife. So sorry that he is gone - this is a nice return to his wonderful outlook and insights on life.
I always had a special place in my heart for Mr. Rogers. He really had such a gentle spirt and knew who he was. This book was short and very sweet.
Wonderful messages from a kind, gentle man who always taught us to love our neighbors. Mr. Rogers is my hero!
Fred Roger's Emersonian walk along the path of personal insight and observation. It's a heartfelt, quick, enjoyable read.
The right book at the right time for me. The world needs more "Mr. Rogers"
Sweet and a lovely reminder of the man I watched so much as a child.
I often go back to my highlighted inspirational quotes to guide me..
Not as inspiring as the other one I read, but still cute.
Excellent book.
A beautiful collection of thoughts about life, love and creativity from the one and only Fred Rogers. Recommended reading.
You'd be hard pressed to find a more beloved childhood figure than Mr. Rogers. This book is a collection of quotes from our friendly neighbor, most of them dealing with being yourself on life's journey. What's wonderful about his words are how they are applicable no matter what your age or where you are in your life. What a comfort and joy Mr. Rogers is!
Beautiful. I love this book. I keep in in my living room and read it if I ever need a little pick-me-up.
We listened to this on audio book, BD Wong really should have been the only one reading- his voice is awesome. The introduction by Mrs. Rogers was really touching, she reminds me of June Carter Cash for some reason. I love Mister Rogers! I want to be him!
A friend of mine gave me this book and I love the simple truths that Mister Rogers shares. I remember watching him growing up and feeling like I knew him through his television show.
I read a passage of this every night before I go to bed. Just simple and refreshing reminders of how the people in this world should be!
This man is up there with the Dalai Lama and Ghandi in my opinion. Maybe not as well known, but just as wise.
I have the book, not the audio book as it shows in the photo. Who doesn't love Mister Rogers? :)
I love quotes and the world rarely felt safer, friendlier, or more accepting then when he was in it.
Life is precious and wearing sweaters gives it even more meaning!
