Landscape photography that is subtle and sublime. Galen Rowell's photos of the City by the Bay make me
want to go have dinner at the Cliff House. If you haven't checked out photo books by the late Galen Rowell, you're missing something.
Much smaller than I had anticipated and photos are not as glossy-pretty as some books. (shiny things = neat!) There are a few pictures that stopped my heart, though. San Francisco, why do you have to be so beautiful? Oh, the wanton desire...
Short collection, great pictures, ok quotes from "used to be" famous and well-known San Franciscans. Made me a little homesick and definitely nostalgic for the city.
