Granted, Zamperini spends a good bit of the final chapters emphasizing his life as a Billy Graham-inspired evangelical, but that's just as much a part of his past as his trip to the Berlin Olympics in 1936, courtesy of a tie finish at the Olympic Trials in New York. Louis' time in the Army Air Corps is lovingly and amusingly detailed, and the war story is as good as (or better than) the track story.

This book is phenomenal! I could NOT put it down! I learned that no matter what we go through, God has a purpose, and He will bring something beautiful from it.
