Spring Dawning rounds out the Dragonlance Chronicles trilogy, and it's a satisfying read. In the end, I found the second book to be a little better than the third, but they're roughly on par with each other. I won't go into detail as for my reasons for that - which would give too much away - but suffice to say that part of what made the second book enjoyable for me was missing in the third. Still, there are enough interesting, sympathetic characters to make the story worthwhile.

Date read continues to be my best guess. One more time for the record, I don't think I'd like this book if I read it now, but the stars reflect my former taste.

This wraps up the core Dragonlance series, which in my experience is really all you need. I read a few of the others, wasn't really captivated. It has a very strong series ending, with a lot of unexpected events--one of which really upset me at the time!

Things look bad for our heroes, as the world grows darker despite the promi...more

This series is getting better yet. I've learned that everything that happens, happens for a reason, no matter what. This series is probably one of the best series I've ever read, other than the Eragon series.

Decently satisfying wrap-up to the story. Probably not a series for people to read after high-school.

This is essentially young adult, D&D fanfic. I read this in middle school and was instantly hooked - can only guess at the number of times I re-read it. I'd say I also read about 95% of the following series, but the first three were definitely the best. The "Twins" books, though written by the same author, were far less interesting to me. I never re-read them. The first three volumes are a must for anyone interested in the genre.

Throughout the years nerds have tainted many beloved things...Chess, Star Trek, Math & of course mystical magic lands with beasts and heroes that grow deep in your imagination. If you can see past that and want a great N readon-Fiction Yes-Adventure read, then look no further. I've read this book 3 times in the past 15 years and enjoy it every time. Then again, i like dragons and swords and shields and magic and all that nerdy stuff. :)

Solid book, though I seem to recall this book as the one with the most of the "Neutrality is awesome" nonsense (okay, there was the Kingpriest / Cataclysm stuff in the later books). I'd be curious to read it again and see how well it holds up. I do give major credit to a certain death in the book which is one of the rare "just dies of natural causes and not heroically in some dramatic moment" deaths in literature.

I'd never been able to get into the classic fantasy, medieval-setting epic novels before I read this series. Something about these books kept me hooked, and, unlike most characters in a lot of fantasy books I've read, these seemed relatively believable and "real." Weis & Hickman really made me care about what happened to the characters!

Great fantasy series, with a very interesting world mythology.

The final installment of the trilogy and the most epic. Many have sacrificed much and have come so far. The terrible dream witnessed in the corrupted elven kingdom in the south is coming true and the Knights have rose back into high power along with the DragonLances to battle the Draconian armies of the Dark Queen. For good or evil, this is the end, and the beginning for Raistlin.

I remember picking this trilogy up at the local library one day. Had no clue I would get hooked on these type of characters. I didn't know what to read and this caught my attention. Boy is this the book for fantasy lovers!

Tragic anti-heroes, pick-pockets, goblins, wizards, dragon highlords - you name it! Medieval fantasy. Definitely worth a read.

Absolutley fabulous, if you love books that have stories similar to Lord of the Rings, but authors who spend more time on character development than description this is an absolute must read. It is by far one of my favorite books and the beginning to a new found love that most readers will find for the world of dragonlance!!!

If you keep in mind the heavy D&D background, and the fact that these books are geared towards 15-year-old boys, they're Great Fun! Just good stories. It's pure fluff -- nothing to change your life -- but highly enjoyable.

This whole series was pretty 'meh'. I would say it ended interestingly, but was a little too sentimental. I doubt I'll be reading more, which is fine since I read them for nostalgia purposes in the first place.

The final book of the trilogy. The heroes have now defeated Takhisis and most of her forces. But though the war may be over for Krynn there is still evil left in the land waiting for her return to power.

I read the first few books in High School (when it was just a trilogy). I remember loving the hell out of it but now I guess there is a whole crazy franchise spawned off these books. Gotta love the D&D.

One of the better Dragonlance books out there -- in fact, I tend to think of Chronicles, Legends, Heroes, and Tales as the only really worthy sets of Dragonlance books that were written.

This trilogy inspired another generation of Fantasy readers. A fantasy series probably had not been this influencial since the likes of the Lord of the Rings series

I readed these chronicles when I was 16 and I loved them. I fall in love with one of the characters: Goldmoon -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G...

A great read from a bygone era of childhood, when fantasy and dragons and knights made your heart wish for a magical portal to another world.
